I can't remember the details, but someone was making a "darker remake" of Prime, and wanted help with their main screen theme. I ended up submitting a more basic version of this, which was well received. That was 2+ years ago. I've played with it off and on for shits and giggles, but it eventually turned into this. Enjoy. http://vocaroo.com/i/s1tu1t7XDG7D |
![]() Birds fall from the window ledge above mine. Then they flap their wings at the last second. I can see their dead weight just dropping like stones or small loaves of bread past my window all the time. But unless I get up, walk across the room and peer down below, I don't see their last second curves toward a horizontal flight. Now due to a construct in my mind that makes their falling and their flight symbolic of my entire existence, it becomes important for me to get up and see their last second curves toward flight. It's almost as if my life will fall unless I see their ascent. | |

You got the timbre down pretty well. Did you take samples from the original and modulate them or just try to find similar sounds on your own? Reminds me of years back when I played Prime.

Whoever was making the remake, also did the original anthem. It sounded very MIDI at the time, so I modulated it, played with the levels to clean it up, and went from there. |

Cool! Though I can't quite pinpoint why, the opening reminds me of the background music in this Half-Life 2 Episode 2 trailer. Maybe it's just the similar guitar wail. |
