Yes, have fun with your girlfriend that you haven't been in love with for multiple years and gotten rejected by and been forced to watch her and her new boyfriend be all affectionate-y and everything right in front of you.

LMAO she's seen the thread.

She seriously thinks I'm the best thing that's ever happened to her. All her friends keep saying how she's no longer depressed since she met me and junk. Idk to believe it or not.

ohai

I've been there for about 3 years now.

Also, someone asked me the other day when I was going to get a girl. I told them, "When she breaks up with her boyfriend." The people around thought it was priceless. :P

I felt like that for 4 years, saw a chance with a different girl, took it, and haven't really suffered for it since. Moving on is awesome!
Of course, if my original opportunity opens up, it might complicate things.

I tried to take an opportunity with another girl and got metaphorically punted in the face. She broke up with me in less than a week.

Moving on is awesome!

I expect so.

The only problem is we're (meaning she is) kind of delaying antything between us until all the high school drama ends. She said she would rather just be friends than put our friendship in danger by being in a relationship. So we're (meaning I am) kind of waiting until things get settled down to where (if she's single at the time) I might get another chance.

Oh yeah, our homecoming dance is this weekend. Everyone asks why I'm not going.

Ohey, sounds like me too.
'cept three years later and after dating another girl, (whole 'nother story right there =D) I realized dating her would be a terrible idea, since "other girl" has convinced me that dating someone without interests very similar to mine is a bad idea for me. (Allow me to delve into the hypocrisy of "other girl": While she apparently liked me because I was "nerdy," she hated all the reasons why I became so in the first place. Gaming being one of those things. She decided it would be a good idea to try and convince me to stop pretty much ALL of my hobbies, even the non-nerdy ones, for some reason. As in, gaming, music, graphics, etc.
*shrug*
And there you have a small chunk of why that relationship died and why it shouldn't have lasted two years =D)

And now I have class.

'Cept our relationship worked twice before. And she has broken up with me twice before. And wait for it- that's right, our friendship is perfectly fine, but for some reason high school drama will ruin it.

And I would date someone else if I was interested in them. But I'm not.

Dang, turns out all girls sound alike.

Or maybe the one I like is just the embodiment of all that is cliché.

Feel the same way about Other Girl, DeP. Only... Lacking all of the good cliche. That's not to say there weren't good things about her (there were plenty), but they were just all... not cliche.
The girl I liked for three to four years, however, wasn't entirely cliche. She just happened to be the ONLY intelligent female in my grade back in high/middle school. And she was cute. But those two were the only reasons I was attracted to her.

The important thing is not to sacrifice yourself for someone you're not even in a relationship with. The "we'll be in a relationship later, but we're not now" thing is such bullshit. You either are committed or you're not. If you are, you're in a relationship, and both members need to be aware of that.
