Zealot, eh? Will it look like the Fenix cutscene? (And no, I don't mean the mashed Fenix shoved into a Dragoon )Edit: Sorry, I forgot Then again, the ingame zealot looks just like the cutscene except the fact that those bars (those overall kind of things) are bigger.

Of course not. Like I said, the whole purpose of these sprites is to be accurate to the ingame version, not the cutscene version. |

![]() Shiny new visors, better 'ling proportions, new armor details, and less manboobs. The zealot.. isn't coming along very well though. >_< I have an idea though, so it should be okay.GL, it isn't. Since they only want work done for the Frigate for now, and my frigate work is done, I'm using my free time spriting for fun instead of MP2D ![]() I did whip up the new Beam Troopers the other day though, because I love their design. <_< |

Looks ok to me. Maybe add the power blades, but other than that, it's fine. And Daz? I remember you saying that a rendered model would "explode the color limit" in a game. Does that mean rendered sprites can't be used for a game due to their complexity? |

Well, that obviously depends. Starcraft and D2 and such use rendered sprites, but they have a very advanced 2d engine. Mp2D might even be able to handle limited rendered sprites. What I was refering to was simply using frames of a fully 3d rendered model that's being hit by realtime shading and effects and craziness and it would never work. >_> |

But real time shading and effects couldn't work in a 2d game because there's no depth So, if I made "sprites" for a game and every one of them was a pre-render, would it work ina side scrolling game?

I think you misunderstood. I mean using a rendered frame that's already been hit by the effects. That's what the guy I was talking to had done, and that's why it wouldn't work. Simply using frames of a standard render? That works just fine.
