I recently bought Superstar Saga again, and have been having a blast playing it! In the past 4 days, I've already played it for over 8 hours. And it's so fun! I even found quite some stuff I didn't find on my previous playthroughs, and my stats are way better. (I didn't know where to put this, I'm not sure if it matters much anyway) |

How many legit owners do we have, anyway? When I was little, I remember going to the store as a family.... and seeing it there... and I guess that same day while we were there, my father sneakily got it or something... It was either a Christmas or birthday present... kinda forget now.... That was way before Yoshi's Lighthouse ever existed, I think. Now days it is hard to remember... Can't remember for sure, but that could have been before I even got into emulation?? Should be before I ever knew how to hack GBA games. - It wasn't until I was like ~10 y.o. or somewhere around there until I was actively using a home computer. - (IIRC, we did have a home computer at the time of the Superstar Saga present.) The first computer we had was a single Desktop computer. HP one, it also had a printer. We do not use it anymore, and I think the last time I tried to get it working, must have blew a fuse or something. - Now days we have a number of personal laptops.... and then there's the smart phone my father has, and a tablet... but I only use my laptop until I have problems...? (Or something.) (Do note that I'm one of those who don't exactly like presents being wrapped... Maybe I'm a strange person, but anyway...) Edited by Teawater, Mar 29 2016, 11:02:32 PM.

Well that was a bit of a historic moment I wasn't expecting. Nowadays everyone here has their own desktops, and there is one laptop for travel. The days of a single shared computer is nearing a decade now, wow.

One laptop for travel? That depends on the person, me thinks... I sometimes get the idea that all most people would need is a smart phone... probably the iPhone... (iOS, Android, etc.) ... (Unless heavily into advanced things like programming or what not.) One problem that traveling with tech has is that you always need a place to charge... If we're gone to a restaurant and back = I leave my comp home. If we go on vacation / or anywhere we'll stay for a bit and is obviously boring = I may take it. / The majority of the time, I don't intentionally share my comp. = It's better that way anyway... I'm sad that iOS/Android apps do not work on Windows PC....... (Unless using an emulator... which I don't really know which one to use./Where to find a good enough one.) ... Why is this in introductions?...
I do actually own a real cartridge of Superstar Saga, and I also have it on my Wii U. |

Because it belongs here, silly. I know at first, it sounds a bit off... But if you take a closer look, you'll notice that he doesn't have an intro besides this one, and this topic is aimed at himself.. notice the "I bought" part in the title... If it turns out this topic isn't about himself, but about Superstar Saga, then I guess it could be moved.... (But then this topic would probably have less meaning?) Well, the title + the "not sure where to put this" indicated it wasn't really supposed to be an intro topic, sooo. |

And if it wasn't really supposed to be an intro topic, then I wonder why he posted it here instead of in the root Community forum? (That place wouldn't be the right place either - or maybe it could be if the post is expanded...., but I'm trying to make a point... Mainly the way I see it is that if there's any reasonable connection that is strong enough, then it is okay... until proven otherwise. - Similar to innocent until proven guilty.) Another thing - The first post does not even ask for any information at all from the other users in the Community.... So it is hard to say what kind of discussion was intended... (We ask questions about his experience, we tell our own, or are we just listening/not supposed to say anything beyond a "Yay for you!"? Etc.) I take it that if people actually did want to discuss how people got Superstar Saga, that topic title would have very likely been different, thus, Intros sounds like the right place to me for the moment? (It's up to 607.) IF more threads like this one are posted from the same person, though... it is possible that I might think otherwise? Hmm! Actually... you know what... I'm starting to think about maybe getting rid of the Introductions forum somehow... Heheh... Ummm.... - Basically, I'm thinking we could still have these Intro topics, but they'd just be mixed in with something else that's pretty much just general spam(?) (But I haven't thought much about it.) Edited by Teawater, Apr 8 2016, 02:35:09 AM.

Wow, Teawater, that post just one above mine here made me laugh out loud exponentially harder xD I really love how you're debating on a topic that seems quite insignificant  I mean, not like we have any significant things around here nowadays... >.> Anyway, I don't really care where this topic is located, I just wanted to share in something more permanent than the Shoutbox and didn't want to spend too much time studying the forum structure ;) I got two copies of Superstar Saga now, but the first one I got for my birthday a long time ago turned out to be a bootleg and the save system stopped working :\ (it seems like bootleg GBA games nearly always have a lower quality save battery) |

Well thanks? By the way you put it, I get the feeling you've probably read my post as though I was making a big deal or something. (In my mind, not really. :P) Wonder why it is so easy to unintentionally do that... maybe it is because I overthink things too much...oh well... I see... so this is just a casual chat... hmm.... I love Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga as a kid. I even have the original copy when the first commercial on TV came out. It was that awesome and I wish that someday AlphaDream will release more official artwork and lot's of ideas for the RPG series like how Zelda got it's anniversary book release. With all the art shown to the public. Maybe one day we will also have a great Paper Mario game that's just like the classics? Hopefully! |
