It's like Minecraft, but with better graphics, and you are not restricted to the same one sized square cube, there are also slopes, and you can paint the blocks, all of which are definately useful for when you want to be creative and build nice things. The world is infinately generated proceedurally, like Minecraft also. If the idea of Minecraft interested you, but got turned off by the design and graphics, then you may just want to check this game out:

If you want to see more videos check out the dev's Youtube page.

Personally the only thing that doesn't look appealing to me is the design of the people (I 'll assume they look like this as a prototype for the meantime as not to complain about the unnecessary). For a very unfinished game, everything looks amazing. Yes, this game is on Steam.
I really want this game now.

Who are you calling an old man?

That logo sure does make it seem like a platformer, when the video doesn't show anything as being a platformer.

I wonder if BlockScape's name came because of RuneScape?

2D was well-known for doing tiles.
3D was well-known for doing triangles.

So what do we do? Make 3D do the old fashion tiles!
MineCraft could be like the blocky tiles in older games, or something, while BlockScape could be like the smooth tiles in the newer games?
And slanted solidity for tiles is actually easy code if you use the linear equations, which would only be used if you are in the tile.. ; It's how Superstar Saga does it, anyway.

For example, "if x<y then x=y" is slanted. You could add some division/multiplication or something to make it more or less steep, but ofcourse, Superstar Saga doesn't go further than the 45 degree slant, as far as I know.
