Who are you calling an old man?

This is where I list many social networks I have found that seem interesting. I also try to include their uses over others as well.

Do note there may be other social networking topics at Yoshi's Lighthouse, but this one is specifically for listing the major advantages/disadvantages of each.

Facebook = Best way to find friends you know. And it seems to be the best one for quickly registering to other sites that support it.
Nextdoor = A private network for your own neighborhood.
Meetme = Meet new friends. Basically, you can start playing with a random friend that also wants to play. And via Live Video as well. (Spooky? Huh?) If that's too much, there might be an audio alternate, but I'm not sure. You can choose that the random friend should be of a certain age-range (18-99), male or female, or whether they live near you or not... ; (By the way, I found a video or two of someone actually doing Live Video on Youtube.)
Meetup = You can find a group meeting to join in real life... instead of virtually. Also, when you register, you don't even need a last name. :)
Twitter = tl;dr ; Basically, you don't have to read any large posts.

paltalk = Don't know much about it. Uses Nickname, but no last name field. Video Chat Room Downloadable Service?

http://chatroulette.com/ = Another video chat site... Don't know much about it. (Less interesting than the others.)

More to come?

Sup?
Now I know of four more Socializing networks that I didn't even know about.

Timychat =A place where you can chat with friends and even maybe some random people. If you have a Microphone, you can plug it in so the people that you are talking to can hear your voice.
Kaillera =A program which lets you connect to servers around the world and talk to friends/random people and you could even play games with them.

Okay thanks.

I kind of think that maybe we should list these into categories.

Finding random people based on certain preferences is sort of interesting though... Especially if they are also actively there. For example meetme.com, or meetzur.com ; However, the former you can be sure the other person is looking for new people, unlike with the latter. And the latter gives you an actual list....
But I was wondering if there were any MMORPG-type webcam/microphone usages... Just to compare further.

Anyway, more to add to the list in the first post.

chatroll = Not sure, but it might be like where one person does a webcam livestream with the whole group doing textual chat?
omegle = Chat with random people by text or video. You could even list some hobbies so that the random people that are chosen have something in common. There's also a Spy (question) mode where you can ask a question and two randomly selected people are chosen to answer it. They are usually very short conversations, so it would mostly be a waste of time... (And it figures some of the people may also lie. However, if they were to like say, have some kind of Karma system based on reliability... then... heheh...) No registrations.
