Just a quick opinion, more tomorrow.
A scruffy win but just about deserved, midfield never got to grips with the game, but 3 points are three points regardless of how we get them, well done lads for grinding out a result.

What's important is the 3 points .

As I tell my son win by 5 goals or more still only gets you 3 points !

A win is a win as the record books will testify. ;)

Agree with everything that's been said. Didn't have the pleasure of witnessing the last 3 games, but today was very much a case of grinding out a result, and you get 3 points no matter how you win.

The rain meant it was a difficult pitch to play on, and credit to both sides for trying to play some football despite many slips on the surface. Hope our friends from Northampton enjoyed their experience (and Joy Division!)

Funny how opinions differ, my nomination for man of the match would be like Ray,s, Donners, just shading it from Parkie.
The midfield was strangely dis-jointed with unusually Skelts not up to his normal high standard, apart from his goal which I missed (being late arriving)Ash Hill was well off of the pace, big Dyse,s distribution was not his usual high standard, but he never had a smell of a chance with their goal as our midfield and defence were all over the shop in spite of Dyse shouting at them to get back.
Credit to Lincoln who came to win the game and played some nice stuff on a pig of a surface,, their two central defenders are worthy of a mention due to managing to partially subdue Shotts and J,J and Kins
Marks as follows ( Reece, I use 7.5 as par)
Dave Dyson, 6.75
Donners, 8.5
Parkie, 8.25.
Jack Sherratt, 7.5.
Paul Taylor, 7.5.
Ash Hill, 6.
Skelts, 7.
Jordan White, 6.75.
J, J, 7.5.
Kins, 7,5.
Shotts, 8.
Not sure about the fitness levels of the subs Curley, Nadge, Reaney, Matranga and Griggsy but I would have thought that with our midfield not functioning as in the last few games that Ade or Reaney could have been brought on to try something different.
Having said that I am expecting all sorts of opposition to this opinion, but I say it as I see it, and yesterday we were scruffy in most parts of the pitch, however we got 3 precious points.Well done lads.

Alan and Reece,
I inserted a comma after the sentence mentioning Skelts so I don,t think I got it wrong, I was told it was Ash at the turnstile , so apologies if I confused you people.
Ash scoring was reflected in the marks I awarded, without the goal it would have been 5, look just because I take the Ball and Chain a cup of tea every morning in bed doesnt make me the perfect Hubby I,m not far off mind you (oh look theres that flying pig again past the window) so scoring a goal does not automatically get a high score.

Nathan,
If all you can do is critisise fans who are not moaning but HAVE AN OPINION then get a life my friend.
My posts on here are as I see it, not to have a go at individuals but to use my experience (of quite a considerable amount of years) of having played , refereed, and assisted in running a very successful youth team to give a honest appraisal of the game.
You want me to moan O,K then, please explain to me how Ash Hill keeps getting a game in front of players with far more ability who are sitting on the bench, that my friend is moaning.
It is no wish of mine to knock anyone who plays the beautiful game cos, from experience I can tell you from the touchline I am the best thing since sliced bread, however out on the park I was often found wanting.
Nobody is more thrilled than myself that the lads have managed to get on a winning run (long may it continue ) but the reality is that sooner or later the bandwagon will come to a juddering halt, then we as genuine fans will still be there giving our support regardless .
Come on the Grove, onwards and upwards lads.

Craftman,,
Moaning ?
Listening on radio Stoke to P&G on my way home from the Grove I heard one or two moaning about Pulis, what do these people want? ok, the type of football may not be the prettiest but Stoke are in the Prem and there are at least another 70 clubs who,s fans wish that their favourite team were in the same position.
Nobody hates hoofball more than myself but it is the way that Pulis finds the most effective for the players that he has, however I did think that with the aquisition of Adam and Nztonga (is that how it is spelt) plus Owen he would have played through the team and not over it.
Not having seen Stoke this time I cannot be sure that the knockers are right but the Stoke fans I talk with are still moaning.

Some Stoke fans don't know which side their bread is buttered TBH.

Having seen us at our lowest , ie 5th bottom of the third tier , our current position is pure heaven in comparison.

The football is improving , and the players are honest and always give 100 pc .

We play in front of 27 k crowds in a poor city with 2 clubs to support , so it can't be that bad.

The Stoke moaners are often the Johnny come latelys who jumped on the bandwagon when we got to the PL , who in time will see the errors of their ways.

As for Nathan it is easy to be so opinionated with 4 consequitive wins , but prior to these wins performances were to say the least questionable !

Grove are in a good place at the moment , and long may it last.

Don't think anyone's moaning.

You can't just hold up the last four games as evidence of our season and ignore all those before - the winning run is nowhere near as long as our losing run was, and people are just expressing their opinions - there was plenty that could have been better on Saturday, but that doesn't detract from the result.

For what it's worth, I now feel we are about where we should be given the squad we now have, no better, no worse. If we can push on from here and move further up the table, I'd see that as exceeding my expectations, if we go on another bad run and slide back down towards the bottom two, it will be concerning.

Having said that if you'd have said to me at the start of the season we'd be 13th at the end of November and top of the local sides, I'd have taken that without question. :)

Shank ,
For your info I am a diehard Vale fan who got fed up with chucking my season ticket money plus car park charges at a regime that was a crooked as they come, I defected to K,A,f,C on the invitation of Pete Ward (whom I have known for all of 5 minutes) LOL and never regretted the decision,
Vale is still very close to my heart and theirs is the first result I look for , however I am essentially a football fan and due to this I take an interest in Stoke also, plus ,other local teams.
Although this forum is for K,A,F,C. it is also open to any relevant topic on football and believe it or not the odd joke or two from yours truly.
Stoke will surely have their own forum, but I would not like to contribute to it as I,m sure that like the football they play any topic would be miles above my head ;) .
Thats now Craftman and Johnno after my blood
