Inevitable really. Another game against Leek, another victory. Another Staffs Cup semi final. Chance for another Cup win (which would be our 5th since 2004).
Apparently the Staffs FA committee have promised a better venue than last season and were seen today clearing the dog sh*t off Wolstanton Marsh ready for the prestigious final.
I'd also like to clarify that when Reece was updating and kept mentioning 'Leek hit the bar' what he actually meant was one of their 6 fans went to the bar and never came back, which explains the 3 left behind the goal in the second half.
Leek can now concentrate on their play-off push, although it would be disappointing to see them go up as the guaranteed points from them may be vital next season - even Shepshed don't give us those anymore.
Finally, thanks must go to Matt Haddrell's belly for keeping our season alive - I always knew that belly would go down as a Grove legend.

Got to give the Small leek following credit for their vocal support tonight !

I must second that Craftman, they were pretty vocal particularly with their correct ideas about the man in the middle ( I am reluctant to use the word referee) after that performance.
As for giving credit, in my opinion full credit and thanks must be given to our groundsman who produced a super playing surface after it had been played on the night previously and with some pretty awful weather in the past week, thats 3 games including the reserve match in 5 days this guy is a top bloke, and now he has to prepare it for Saturday,s match, and I would,nt bet against it being in good nick again.
I am waiting now for the Mikey and BVW excuses / comments re the loss by Leek to our Super Stars I think I might just remind them

Can someone please confirm that there were something more than humans mixed in with the Leek supporters last night !
At one point it sounded like there was a mini zoo in their corner - grizzly bears, parrakeets you name it !

Very strange noises eminating out around the ground

I expect the official line will be that they don't care about the competition and they're glad to be out. There seems to be some concern that their players are going to have to run around for anything up to 3 hours per week which will wreck their season as they'll all get very tired.

Haddrell scoring, Ricky injured - some things never change :D

Leek are definitely not the same threat now that Jimmy McCarthy has departed. Had they not gone back on what they agreed with him, then I am sure he would still be there. His heart definitely left Harrison Park after the "New Mills" incident. Mind you, aren't Leek experts on breaking promises - ref Andy Wain and the Kidsgrove flag ?

Wonder if he's also worked out that the amount of lost revenue through their gates due to Grove fans not going to Leek has probably far exceeded what it would have cost to have kept the promise? Great business sense.

Just a shame we haven't got to play them again this season as we probably only need another 3 points to guarantee safety B)

With Shotts back and hopefully Ash Carter, Pete will have an abundance of talent with which to get 3 points on Saturday.
Safety certain then.
Lizzy66,with reference to the "animal noises " the Leek mob had brought several of their girlfriends with them from off of the hills and they were getting lonely so were obviously protesting at getting no attention.
Another thing is puzzling me was Haddrell wearing lads and dads shirt cos it was at least 4 sizes too small ? lol, he made Kinsey look like a Somalian refugee rofl.

Now, come on Honda, I won't have a word said against Matty - we were struggling for numbers up front last night and he was the one who stepped up to the mark.

New in today .
A Leek town supporter was visiting Whipsnade zoo and was just looking around in the monkey house when the zoo keeper said "hey mate you see that gorilla over there it is on heat and needs someone to make love to it ,would you consider making love to it for £500" "Yes" said the Leek supporter " but only on three conditions" "okay " said the zoo keeper"name the conditions" " the Leek supporter said "firstly I will not kiss the gorilla, secondly my family must not know about it, and thirdly you will have to give me two or three weeks to get the £500 together

I'm here Honda,i knew you would miss me.We just have to accept that Kidsgrove are officially our new bogey team,it used to be Guiseley but those days are long gone now sadly but even with a bogey side we still managed to get promoted before Guiseley,i can sense a similar thing happening between Leek and Kiddie in this league be it this year(which i doubt it will be)or next.As regards Jimmy,Blue Mugge you probably watch the odd Leek match so your view is irrelevant tbh and i doubt Kidsgrove would turn down a 5 figure sum for Deadly Dave if you had 2 eager players in the background waiting for thier chance as we did in Copey and Grice.Only time will tell if we miss him (i doubt we will in the long run)but to judge it on 1 game is delusional in the extreme.Oh well roll on the play-offs ;)

OK, you've done the tannoy, balcony (never heard it sing before - I'll keep an ear out on Saturday) and flag.

I guess we just have to be content with winning the football AGAIN. Suits me.

I think the point you are trying to get across is that you would find it easier to understand a 'special person'. Your elementary teacher may be able to understand your grammar but I can't make head nor tail of it. I'm not sure whether you are at school, have ever been to school, or it's just the Leek dialect but I have tried seven different language translators for your post and still cannot understand it.
Never mind, for the next match we will try and get in a tannoy translator just for you and your like.
By.the.way.I.think.your.full.stop.button.is.sticking.
There's only one Matty Haddrell B)

Good to hear that you have not buried your head in the mountain of sand that is used to spread over the playing surface at H.P.
To be fair Leek had a good first 25 minutes and t,b,h,look a team able to make the play offs, whether Leek are good enough to sustain a position if they get promotion is debatable, so in the absence of Grove making it I hope that Leek give it a good shot.
Talking about sand I read in the Leek and Post Times Harrison Park has so much sand on it that it is being let in the summer for the olympic beach volleyball tournament, or is this a rumour?

BVW - either you have been ill-advised as to how much LTFC received for Jimmy or you are just mathematically illiterate. A 5 figure sum means atleast £10,000 or were counting in pence ? A club normally only puts their BEST players on contract and prior to Matt Haddrell going on contract recently, Jimmy was your only contract player. Also, clubs in higher leagues only normally go after your BEST players and the one they were all after was JIMMY. If Grice and Cope are as good as Jimmy, how come Bake hasn't taken them to Crewe for a trial ? Football is a game of opinions, but all the "Football Brains" feel that Jimmy was your best player.
Don't get me wrong, I think that both on and off the pitch there has been massive improvements at Leek Town this season and promotion is still a possibility. You are obviously passionate about your club and I applaud you for that. But what does it say about Kidsgrove - with less than half of your following, we are able to compete at the same standard as yourselves. We have a player who turned down a signing-on fee and pay rise from Leek to stay at Kidsgrove - so Kidsgrove are obviously doing something right.
