A nice trip for them on a tuesday! Bit of justice really, considering that we were forced to go to Brigg on a Tuesday a couple of weeks ago

Not the fault of Brigg though, as was posted by one or two forum members here on our site the fault lies with the faceless opportunists that organise??? the fixture list.

He certainly isn't faceless, being quite well known (and popular) on facebook and twitter. He does a difficult job with a lot of good humour, knowing full well that he can't always please everyone.

Not his fault the weather's been so bad for so long!

Can't accept the weather argument - our game at Brigg was put onto a Tuesday night well before the winter fun kicked in.

No one's ever going to be 100% happy, but I believe the league has a duty to ensure fair competition wherever possible. I'm sure Brigg's squad selection will be affected by having to leave Lincolnshire in time to reach us, just as ours was when we had to travel there. Perhaps there comes a point in late March/April where all the permutations are exhausted and there's no choice - I'm just not convinced we're there yet.

Next Saturday's fixture: Market Drayton at home

And thats all we're asking for - a bit of common sense and willingness to help clubs out in these difficult times. Sadly lacking at the well-liked (and popular) department.
This may be a shock to the league officials frequently found eating prawn sandwichs at Chester and FC United, but many of the clubs in their league operate on a shoestring budget and quite often the referee will be the best paid person on the pitch.
