Fantastic result today. It was a very even game except for a 15 minute spell in the second half where Shotton scored twice and Kinsey had a goal disallowed. Idiotic decision to play the game though. It's all very well singing the praises of 3G pitches, but what about the snow? It took me 2 hours to get back to Nottingham on a treacherous A5 and M42, the roads around the ground were even worse. I hope the conditions were better on the M6 for everyone else. |

Just hope the players get back ok - they wouldn't have started back til 6 so the roads would be even worse. |

Very happy despite the journey! Great to see Liam in the goals again - he certainly likes playing on that ground. With no one else playing, we've moved into the top half of the table. Strangely enough, I think the snow actually made the 3G a better surface than it normally is, as it absorbed some of the bounce. Towards the end though, the ball started to hold up in it, rather like playing in mud. |

Great result by the boys.. Decided not to travel with the snow forecast.. Had a free ticket to go watch stoke. Should have gone the pub.. Mr atkinson killed the game.. Huth pulled out and seeing it live i said yellow at worst.hardly any contact if any. Sunderland had one chance and took it.the challenge by shawcross was half-hearted.. Snow made the game a bit of a joke.. The mackems are on a good run but still thought they were pants.poor premier league...!!!!!!!!!! Thank god it was free........

Mikey has gone very quiet, has he hibernated due to the weather or is he stuck somewhere in the hills looking for some solace from a sheep ? or perhaps Leek have had a power failure, that is Leek the town, not the club they are on a permanent power failure recently. Come on Mikey wheres your entertaining banter now? Just to remind you Mikey Sutton 0 - Grove 2 and to make it even better Shotts got them both Alan ,why was Kinsey,s goal disallowed ? he will be absolutely furious. More importantly did everyone get back safely? |

I can only guess that it was disallowed for a push on the defender, but it seemed a little harsh to me. |

Looks like it should never have been played to be fair. The pitch may have been fine but what about the spectators getting home after the match with snow which was obviously getting worse by the hour on the road.why dont refs take this into consideration?I know of some folk that went the stoke match yesterday and had to abandon their car in Longsdon and walk back to Leek some 4hrs after leaving the Brit |

I agree, it should never have been played, to do so was a completely irresponsible decision. There are some people who are determined to prove that 3G pitches are the solution to all football's problems. Sutton Coldfield have been particularly vocal on various social media in pointing out when their games are on during cold weather and others have been cancelled, and I do wonder whether this desire to justify the investment clouds a sensible judgement. Headlines on the Evo-Stik site like "3G saves the day" can't help either. At least Woodley Sports had the good sense to call their match off. The forecast was well-known and snow was already falling before kick-off time. At least as a supporter, I had a choice whether to risk the journey - the players were in no such position. The conditions on the roads on the way back were simply horrendous. People should not be forced to endure that just for the sake of a game of football. |

I notice Pulis mentioned that Stoke have already played a 'season' of 38 games in suggesting that they have had a long season so far. Well, yesterday was the 40th game of the season for our part timers and we seem to be getting stronger as the season goes on. |

Can vouch for about 3-4 - got back about 10pm - had to abandon the car they were in on the A500 and jog along it for a while until a friend found them and gave em a lift the rest of the way ! They re all ok and happy though another match done and 3 points in the pot

After Saturday's result, Sutton's assistant manager has said "If I'm honest the play-offs are now beyond us" and "you could almost tell that we were a team that wasn't playing for anything" I find this a very strange approach for a team only 5 points off 5th place. It's only February, and you never know what's going to happen to teams at the top between now and the end of the season. |
