Hold on does that mean he was sacked by the chairman that didnt have the bo  ocks to sort out the flag gate incident. Think Jono is best out of a club run by a numpty like that- (all the best for the future Jono !) |

Pity they got rid of him before we play them - that means they might not be such a pushover if they get someone decent in. Can't see Clowes wanting the job as there seems to be such a gap between Leek and Newcastle at the minute. Perhaps we should be more worried about Wardy? |

Just been on Leeks website which is, not surprisingly, very active at the minute! There's some strange sort of perversion in taking pleasure from a local rival's misfortune, but then, I'm a perverted person! Some interesting shouts on their forum - surprisingly Wardy isn't mentioned. However, an interesting name put forward is Kenny Scragg - didn't see that one coming. But, in view of the large input he had when we assembled the young side of 2008/09 season ('Kenny's Kids'?), when we were on the verge of going out of business and couldn't afford to pay wages of 'established' Unibond sides, its probably not a bad shout. Kenny, don't go! I think Leek need to completely rebuild, like we did 2 1/2 years ago, and then be realistic and give a new manager a couple of seasons to build a new young side. Let's not forget that in the 2008/09 season we went 15 games without a win (including a straight 10 game losing streak) but still showed faith with both the manager and the young side. Sometimes the directors have a responsibility to the club that goes beyond just listening to the fans and taking the easy way out and they have to have thick skin and big boll**ks! |

I think its acceptable to take pleasure in their misfortune. Firstly, because they'd do exactly the same if we were in their position and secondly because I don't like Leek very much! I reckon Bucko/Twiggy may be in the frame - I can't see Congleton getting out of the NWCL now with their current squad, plus if they got the job, I'm sure there's a chance Leek's pie hut may see a sharp upturn in business. Perhaps they need to stop believing their self-generated Sentinel-publicised propaganda and realise they're not promotion contenders at the moment, and also consider that money isn't everything. If it were, we'd just get every team to declare its budget at the start of the season and not have to bother with all this trekking around playing games of football. On the whole though, I don't care what they do. I'm only bothered about beating Mossley tomorrow. But if Leek could just get something off Carlton tomorrow I wouldn't complain! |

As a Leek Town fan i knew you would be gloating about the events of the last couple of days(if not all season!)like one of you said we would be doing exactly the same if the scenario was reversed. Firstly it is a shame about Wayne Johnson as he was a great servant to Leek for 8 years and he will be missed not only on the pitch but around the club as a whole you wont hear any true fans say a bad word about Johnno. Secondly one of your fans said that he had been on our website and 'surprisingly Wardy is not mentioned as a replacement'well let me tell you why:us at Leek think he is a good number 2 not so good as a manager because even though he was in charge when we won promotion to the conference everyone down leek knew the credit should have been acredited to Phil Wilson who left half way through the season and it was only because we had some wise old experienced players at northern prem level(who wilson bought to the club) to see us over the line.so for me you can keep Wardy with my pleasure.Kenny has been mentioned because he is from leek and he has had great success with blue mugge but for me he is unproven at this level although a former leek manager Neil Baker came from a sunday football team and he took us to wembley and he is now established at crewe alex so it could work.Twiggy is very popular down leek so i can see him coming to be honest(the bar would be in profit after every home game anyway). But for me the choice has to be Greg Clowes i think we could get him seeing as Leek are a bigger club!!Then i think next season we could push on get a striker to play up front with Dan Cope someone like dare i say Walker.I am allowed to dream! Finally our poor form this season i feel can be attributed to (and i never thought i'd say this because i originally thought he was a fat pub player)the loss of Nick Ward to yourselves.Anyway all the best for the rest of the season and see you all on New Years day slightly the worse for wear hopefully with Clowes in charge |

your quite right yellowsandpurples Nick Ward is top class & improved our team no end & why wait till new years day whats wrong with next Tuesday at our place in the cup we dont rip away flags up at Kidsgrove should be a good game as your players will need to impress a new manager & it wont be Greg Clowes as he has more chance of silverare at Castle |

Stockily built, I think he meant! Certainly in our team of lean, mean youngsters who drink lucozade or juice after games he stood out from the beginning of the season both on the training pitch and in the bar! No offence, Nick. Anyway, he stands out where it counts now, and that is on the pitch. |
