tough game wed night at carlton,i will go for a 2-2 draw, a win could send us top if castle fail to take 3 points at home tuesday night, leek town play barwell at home,so either leek do us a favour and beat barwell, or we get immense satisfaction of leek failing again

Grove 1 down at half time. Took us 35 minutes to get going and could have been 2 or 3 down. But last 10 minutes of first half was onslaught for grove - dave hit bar, liam had fierce shot well saved and we had 4 or 5 corners and couple of half chances. Next goal is crucial to both teams

And its gone to Carlton. 2-0 down 3 minutes into 2nd half. Free kick from carlton into box wasn't cleared and danny smith tried one of his yrademark back headers to keeper. Forward read it and was left with easy tap in. Up against it now as they continue to pile on the pressure.

Now 3 down. Absolutely abyssmal display. Shocking 3rd goal to concede - from posession on half way line to back to keeper to bad kick to ward to corner given away to goal. Absolute comedy. They'll never have an easier game. Can see only one outcome from here and it ends with grove nil!

Overhead kick from walker almost in - saved by keeper. Then short back pass gives them glorious chance but wasted. End to end with us till having 3 up front

Full time 3-3. Carlton player sent off a minute from time. Unbelievable come back but the players also have to own up to being poor for 60 minutes tonight. Turning point wa changes made when 3 down. Ward pushed up front and looked as if he's played there all hgis life. Tom urwin was also brought on and looked class - set up 2 goals. Has to start more regularly. Makes coach ride home a bit pleasanter!

Thanks for the updates, sounds like a real roller coaster. Good result to play so poorly and get a point. See you Saturday for Chasetown.

Dave's right, we can't escape the fact we were pretty poor for a lot of the game, but what a comeback!!

The changes at 3-0 down certainly came off - Liam's goal was a quality finish and then came the Nick Ward show, he took both goals superbly in front of the travelling fans who could scarcely believe it!

Tom Urwin really made a difference, and while for once Dave didn't find the net, he worked tirelessly for the full game - great effort.

Still can't quite get over it!! :D :D :D

one of those games that will live in your memory forever, very poor first 20 minutes, their no10 was a class act, then we stepped up a gear and controlled the last 25 minutes of this half, dave had a overhead kick hit the bar. second half first 20 minutes crap, result 3 down poor at the back. The fans had just started to talk about wardy playing up front in a 4-3-3 when wardy made those changes,3 goals in 5 minutes ,wardy deserves, a knighthood for his never say die attitude ,followed his wild celebration in front of the away following.man of the match would of gone to dave walker who rans his socks off,but sir wardy wins for two world class curlers in 3 minutes, well done lads, good luck for saturday, sorry i will miss it at a wedding,DAM and double DAM. Well done to pete ward and co,well worth the 3hour round trip

To analyse last night i think the problems can easily be sorted. The long ball upfront for a shotton flick on does not work,we have to remember haddrells left, when the ball was played to shots right hand side hard and low ,shots ended up forcing a corner. When we kept the ball down last 20 minutes and passed our way through the middle with two players supporting shots walker and wardy we got two goals, these are our strengths.I noticed on corners dave walker came out to give the corner taker options, this worked but maybe other players need to follow daves example, thus leaving deadly dave in the box where he can do most damage, very proud of our fightback last night , we are a great footballing side and this is our STRENGHT,many thanks to leek town for sir WARDY
