As Christmas is just around the corner, I thought it was about time for a festive quiz to try to find the true Kidsgrove fans out there. I'm feeling full of seasonal cheer and it's also the website's 10th birthday next year, so as an added incentive, KAFC Online will buy a round of drinks for everyone on Friday should you manage to come up with all the correct answers before midday on Friday! The judge's decision is final (that's me, that is). Have fun! 1) Who are the only two players to start every game for Kidsgrove this season? 2) Some anagrams of former Kidsgrove favourites next. Who are they? MOLE IN CHANNEL TRADING GREW A CAMEOS JEST 3) Only one side has played in the same division as Kidsgrove in every season since we joined the UniBond League. Who? 4) The big Boxing Day fixture against Leek is getting ever closer. Who scored the last minute penalty on Boxing Day 2003 to give Kidsgrove a much-celebrated win at Harrison Park? 5) Kidsgrove's strikers have been in great form this season, but it's not the first time we've had a free-scoring side. Against whom did these big victories come? a) 13-0 (in 2002) 10-1 (in 1995)c) 8-1 (in 1998) 6) Which manager lost his job in the 1995/96 season for fielding a suspended player against Skelmersdale United? 7) Which team comes next in this list? Vauxhall GM, RTM Newcastle, Brodsworth Miners' Welfare, Poulton Victoria, Brache Sparta, AFC Lymington, .... 8) Reece loves speeding his way round the country following The Grove. Where are these three Unibond grounds? a) ![]() ![]() ![]() c) ![]() 9) When Kidsgrove first installed floodlights at the ground, a Stoke City side managed by whom came to play the first game under them? 10) Which unusual event caused the postponement of the home games against Mossley and Flixton in September 2000? Well, they're pretty easy actually. Off you go then, talk amongst yourselves and grab yourself some free drinks... |

I'm starting to get worried now! Between Matty, Dave and Reece you now have 7 completely correct and 1 partially right. Not telling you which ones yet though! |

Not sure about the other wrong answers but the answer to question 3 is Belper! And 7 is Potters Bar Town (1/4 final of Vase). Q1 is Tom Schwarz & Matt Haddrell. Q9 Lou Macari was manager at Stoke when KAFC opened floodlights but not sure if he managed the team who played at Grove on that day! And I'm sure it was Wardy who was sacked for fielding inelegible player cos I've heard Ernie Langford bragging about it! |

Latest score with Dave's contributions: Between all the posts above, there are 8 fully correct and one partially right. Lou Macari is indeed the answer to Q9. |

Thanks to mrs al, I think the september 2000 postponements were due to the fuel blockades! Either that or we had a couple of players involved in the Sydney Olympics that started September 2000 (diving, maybe!). |

Hello everyone, I must say I'm impressed. I NEARLY ended up having to buy a round of drinks there as you've scored 9 and two thirds out of 10! Haven't got time to post all the answers now, so I'll just say thanks to Brocton FC for saving me some money and keeping Mrs Alan on my Christmas present list See you all later! |
