What time is it?

Popularity points are like praises. If you think the person did a good job on something, you praise them but you MUST give a reason. Hope it helps. :3 |

@Zashko It wouldn't and couldn't work that way, it wouldn't be entirely equal and popularity points are meant to be here as praise for being nice to somebody... not really something you can just earn off of. ^^ |

It's not a matter of talking to people. And it's not really up to you, up to the public and what they think of you, it's mainly based on your social skills I would say. Which makes me wonder why I have so many. |

Popularity points makes a person's reputation look good. If a person helped you, did something awesome for you or if you think a person is nice, great, epic, etc then you give that person a point. If a person is very rude, racist, is an awful person, spams a lot, etc then you take a point away. |

Popularity points are an intangible way of rewarding a member for doing something that you feel should be rewarded for. Like Halo said, you need a reason to have a point added or taken away (some members dont follow that rule but that's impossible to avoid, I guess). If you have a lot of points, you have either helped a lot of people or said a lot of awesome things. Like Josh and I. We helped people, even though we don't say too many awesome things. Some others of you just say some things that make the others go "YES!" and that means popularity too. |

Or admins/mods get points because some people want to kiss ass, like Toto said. Derp. Which is seriously not cool. Give us points if we do something helpful, not because we so speshul. Then that's awesome. :D |

Heh :B I don't think anyone has given me points for that reason. If they did, I'd have more than I do. Heck, I don't even get enough points for the things I actually do. Then again, I probably come across as the kind of person who would treat people like trash regardless ^^ |

Are you sure? Check your popularity list. : / I bet there's at least three points given for no or some horribly vague reason. If not, then I think that's really cool. Suck-up points are nothing to be really happy about. Real points gotten for real reasons are. :D |

My own personal opinion on the system is that all it really does is make and break egos. I try to not participate in it for fear of just doing something wrong. (Also for ,mandynfa Reason is not important because Wauid Okay restart...) So some people wind up having two points or something not because they are hated or unpopular, it's sometimes because people are just not sure what to say to +1 it I think. |
