I always thought SpongeBob was evil. Especially the newer episodes. I like the show to some extent, but I mean come on, it's been over ten years, and it needs to die already. |

I'm a super SpongeBob fan, I still laugh at ten-year old episodes...but I agree with you. The ones that have been coming out for about 4 years ago are mediocre, and SpongeBob gets lamer and lamer...whenever, IF whenever, the series just decides to die, it probably would've ruined the show for me. It should've quit when it was on top. :< |

I honestly don't agree with the SpongeBob bashing. I never cared to watch the cartoon, but I can honestly say there's a difference between a show...and a marketing for the show. Viacom allows sexual innuendo into their merchandising... but it doesn't mean the show itself is bad. Alot of good genuine people work on that show, just like our beloved Zim's staff. |

@Skoo: I agree, but I'm talking about how SpongeBob is just Nick's cash cow, and doesn't want to move on too much because they don't want to take any risks. When was that last time I saw a really good show on Nick? Avatar. |

Gir's a cash-cow too for Hot Topic. When you find a good thing you usually stick with it until it is milked dry. But maybe SpongeBob appeals to all the new kids and may continue relentless seasons. Reminds me of Simpsons. That's been around since I was a BABY! I'm 24 years old... and they still make new episodes? It's quite crazy... but it has a nostalgia factor. |

I've been watching SpongeBob since it came out in 1999, and I've noticed a HUGE change in the series. After the movie ended, the creator called it quits and decided not to work with the series anymore; you can tell the difference. The comedy changed, some characters are getting annoying and repetitive. I know we shouldn't be bashing on them, but as a loyal fan since the beginning, I really don't care about the new episodes. As for Avatar, the series was doing amazing until the ending, I found the ending to be terribly clich'ed. :| But I think we're getting out of topic here. |

ive been watching spongebob since it came out as well and i used to watch it alot. i didnt know the creator left it, though i can tell because the comedy is different and repetitive just like you said. and i thought the ending of avatar was a bit off to. i dont know, kinda lame. well anyhow, we did get way off topic didnt we? |

@Cosmo: EXACTLY! Everything after the movie was completely inferior, and I have been watching since the beginning as well. I also agree that we're getting off topic as well... |

Spongebob: I love it. Yeah the newer episodes are alot less well crafted, but I still like it for a laugh every once in a while. As Skoo said lot's of people work hard to bring Spongebob to the masses... I've been watching since it came out, not as much anymore... But I still love that giggling cheese--- er Sponge. =) Anywho, is there any latest news on this whole Viacom thing? |

I do not think that Viacom would sue you for making a fan-animated series. Viacom does own the rights to the show. But this is not the official show. I think the only person you should be worried about would be Jhonen Vasquez who still owns the copyrights to the characters. But Jhonen is cool, so I don't think that he'd sue anybody. |

Shouldnt We Be Talking About How Much We All Wanna Kill Viacom Instead Of Talking About Spongebob? |

Like a record, baby.

No, Viacom owns the characters. They own everything-- Jhonen has no say whatsoever in anything Zim-related. At least, that's my understanding of the matter. Mike Mozart is awesome, and I'm glad he's bringing this idiocy to the youtube community's attention. |
