At first, I wasn't really sure what to think of this. I'm all for justice of wrong-doing... but the grand celebration over the death I don't like. I see this as a giant ego boosting event for the US that won't really change anything in a positive way. An arrest and trial would have sufficed, if that were a possibility. But, what do I know, perhaps I just like having a controversial viewpoint. -shrug- |

They spent 1.1 trillion dollars looking for him. I wish my life was worth that much. |

Something my cousin said on Facebook that made me think maybe it wasn't the best idea. Then again, if they'd found him what else could they do but kill him? Throwing him in prison wouldnt work and ignoring him wouldnt either. There wasn't really many choices in the matter and I guess killing him was the best way to handle the situation in their eyes. But its definately not the end of the worlds problems coz one guy is dead! |

Hmm, Keeping him locked up, Wouldnt that be a security hazard to wherever they kept him? The reason they buried him at sea was to rob him of martyrdom and somewhere extremists could become a sick and twisted shrine For a trial? Not really, again, the hazards of keeping a man such reveared in extremists views that keeping him alive and captured would of caused massive security threads, moreso then putting a bullet in his head, imagine all the nutbags who would start suicide bombing, gunning people down demanding a release, the US robbed their enemys of this However Al Quaida always maintained they had a nuclear bomb, and if anything where to happen to Osama they would set it off in Europe |

They had to kill him, I think. But people who think everything is suddenly going to be peachy, are loopy. |

they didnt really have to kill him, im sure his time of leader of the group was spent, just spending the rest of his days as a "spiritual" leader overseeing processes. I think its just an absolute morale killer for al qaeda and a morale boost for the american economy, Obama's election chances (what kind of american wouldnt vote for him now?) Intresting to see what happens, if This deflates Al qaeda or is like putting your dick and pissing inside the wasps nest. |

I cant stand all this new talk about Al Qaeda when it should be more about extremest groups. Ever since 9/11 the term Al Qaeda has been number one the name to designate extremest groups. Thing is, before 9/11 these extremest groups didn't have a name, but the news needed one to publicise. Al Qaeda being the most prominent at the time (but ONLY in the middle east) was used by the US press and then circulated around the world. Obama was part of Al Qaeda, but by glorifying his actions as a group orchestration created this ring of terror and misinformation that destroyed individual privacy in world. Extremest groups are misguided, severely unstable and looking for recognition for their work. If you were going to blow something up to appease your god you would want to named with the best in the business. If you were the "publicised" best in the business and someone blew something up in your name, damn right you would take credit for it. That is how Al Qaeda became a household name, not by being intelligent underground worldwide terrorists, but by public syndication creating an outlet for these crazed extremest to get their views heard. This will not deflate Al Qaeda at all. Al Qaeda is a name, extremists blow up buildings. |
