"Art" or specifically "abstract" is just an excuse for being bad
This is true.
That is the dumbest thing i have ever read. It just makes you look retarded by agreeing to it.

I'm actually glad i can apreciate art in most of its forms.
Nahson, Keep pretending to appreciate nyerk to impress people.

That's the best part about art man, everyone see's it differently, it's a subjective medium.
It doesn't matter if they're deluded or crazy or looking for things that aren't there.
The point is that you see something for you, that you take something out of it, it doesn't matter what it is.
If you think it's stupid then fine, think it's stupid, but understand that in this medium there is no one answer, everyone has their own eyes for different art styles.

Example, I really love the art style of Ben Templesmith but a lot of people think it's vague and often lacking in detail. I however, appreciate the focus it gives you to certain details in a picture and the raw, visceral way he draws blood and gore (He's a comic book artist for those playing at home)

I happen to like that second one, but for the very simple fact that it's a pleasing shade of blue, nothing more.

Managing to sell blue panels as high art for thousands of dollars is an art form in itself. Not being sarcastic either. Half of modern/post-modern art is making people argue about what art is.

it has to evoke something emotionally or intelectually to be art.

but apparently video games cant be art because its interactive.

(according to art experts, who imo are just jealous that video games are the new popular medium)

The videogames are art debate is stupid because art encompasses anything that has even a little creative effort put into it. Most people forget that bad art is still art.
99.9% of videogames are really bad art so they just get written off.
