Then, there was the apothecary dude, selling "Black Walnut Tincture - For Fungus, Parasite, Iodine". His description states that the formulas are naturally aged and "cold pressed". Cold pressed? Some olive oil is "cold pressed" and some canola oil as well, it's the healthy alternative as opposed to other methods of expelling, but we are talking about Black Walnut Hulls here, to my knowledge (the green outer wrapper of the shell to be precise), not the nut meat itself, and I thought tinctures were made by using a solvent which can be alcohol, vinegar, or water by boiling, to extract the medicinal properties. This was puzzling me, especially after that long study and not having concluded whether the Black Walnut (Hull) actually has Iodine in it or not, so... so, I thought I would do a net search on Black Walnut tincture. I thought if I found something it might tell me the Iodine content of Black Walnuts and I might have something there. Not sure what words I used for search but I ended up at the Apothecary herbs shop which had the same name as the seller and the same bottle.

Black Walnut Tincture - For Fungus, Parasite, Iodine

BLACK WALNUT TINCTURE

Natural tannins in black walnut kill parasites, yeast and fungus. Black walnut creates an acidic environment in the intestinal tract to kill the alkaline-loving yeast and parasites. Use black walnut with garlic for extra power to kill parasites. Other benefits black walnut delivers: heals wounds fast, reduces inflammation and aids in thyroid function. You will want the natural iodine (127) in black walnut to protect your thyroid from radiation poisoning. We highly recommend having the natural iodine in Black Walnut on hand to use against Morgellon's Disease.

1 ounce cold pressed, aged concentrate $18.95

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK:

"I commend your products for the quality I have seen so far. I decided to pick up and make some tools like a good microscope, oscilloscope, Spectrum and light meter...etc., so I could start to verify product claims. Basically, all life has energy and even inert items have some resonance. I opened 2 bottles of your herbs at this time and found them to be rich. There is color and a good lengthy spectrum to them which tells me they are quality items and long lasting. I appreciate your website information and the processing you folks use. Seems processing is the key to quality. Thanks again." P. Tello, Cape Neddick, ME

"Thanks for the rapid and efficient service." C. Valentine, Lonaconing, MD

FORMULAS AGED LIKE WINE
Our formulas are naturally aged and cold pressed to preserve medicinal potency. Why use a natural aging process? Forced aging (forced extraction) creates heat and destroys the medicinal potency of the plant. You will use very little of our product compared to a forced extraction product.

QUALITY STATEMENT
We are committed to bring you premium grade, professional strength herbal products. Our formulas are made with Certified Organic herbs grown to Tilth Standards. Try our formulas and you'll see what a premium grade, naturally aged herbal product can do. You can always expect quality herbal supplements at reasonable prices from Apothecary Herbs.

It's odd, I don't know how I missed it before. I put the words Black Walnut tincture in the search today and all sorts of results showed up. I must have used keywords from his listing yesterday. I can see now I am far from investigating the Black Walnut connection to Iodine. One of the two sites I opened today had information about the Black Walnut having Iodine in it, though I still see no indication or reference to the actual content (like mcg) of Iodine listed anywhere.

Another page with the product gives no mention of Iodine at all. I wonder why that would be?

Wow, here's a cool Apothecary in Ohio that has Black Walnut Hulls at a very good price in small amounts any way, like one ounce size ($1.50). It looks like a great place to fill up your supply of herbs to have around, and there is a broad selection of them. I used the shipping calculator to figure what it would be and the shipping rates are not bad either.

There is a page about them and shows their Apothecary store in Bedford, Ohio, and tells a little about them.

Worldwide reports of iodine overdoses: WHO

The World Health Organisation (WHO) says it has received reports of people being admitted to poison centres around the world after taking iodine tablets.
Fears about harmful levels of radiation coming out of the damaged nuclear power plant in Fukishima has seen panic buying of iodine pills in many countries.
Iodine is thought to protect the body's thyroid and glandular system from radiation.
The French government has dispensed half a million tablets to its Pacific territories as a precautionary measure.
But WHO Western Pacific environmental officer, Steven Iddings, says there are already reports of overdoses in countries close to Japan.
"These would be from maybe frightened people who have self-medicated without the advice of a doctor," he said.
"This treatment is really meant for people who are close up, perhaps workers who are associated with the response in Japan."

A month ago, I bought some Spiderwort plants/roots from ebay. They got here super lightning fast, in about 2-3 days, and in great shape. They went straight into pots, and got watered, upon arrival. About 6 days after being planted, I noticed what looked like buds with a hint of pinkish purple on a stem and I tried to get a picture.
