Elizabeth steadily walked through the grounds alone, her eyes wandering over the pretty scenery before her and taking in the finer details. She was not in a particularly splendid mood, per say, but she was not exactly woeful either, merely a touch glum. Jane had given her help with court etiquette and manners and the likes but she still felt no closer to attracting the attention of William Parr. What if it was not so much her, but him? What if he did not want to notice her, or perhaps he had and had not taken an interest enough to do anything more about it?

The naive little blonde's eyes traveled to the floor as she walked, a slight furrow forming on her brow. She wished she could be more outgoing, that she had the courage to be at ease around people she didn't know well, it would make everything so much easier... And William Parr might take a liking to her. She so very much wished he would.

Liza had come to the conclusion that she wasn't all too fond of the ideal of 'love'. She had never been in love with her husband, that is to say, she cared for him but she did not love him. She had thought love would be pleasant and perfect and... mutual. Of course she had no solid evidence that it was unrequited but she equally had no evidence of the opposite.

Sighing, she came to a slow halt next to a rose bush that had clearly seen better days. The frost and snow had seemingly attacked the poor thing mercilessly and it was of course barren of roses as it was not the season for them. "Poor thing, you look as I feel but at least you shall bloom again in the spring... If only I could be so certain of my fate."

Henry Percy, that of a spiritual sort, was often prone to find himself on aimless but entirely thoughtful strolls and journeys through the palace or its surrounding courtyards, and this early afternoon was no exception. The clouds overhead gave no sign of relenting, and where a fantastic, honey-like sun would be pouring its warmth on the land, snow and frost instead took its deathly grip on the horticulture and made perfect use of the Spring or Summer's absence. Henry sighed, his breath coming in a small, moist plume of steam from his lips as he walked through the gardens, cautious of any camouflaged ice patch or trembling icicle. Particles of snow were kicked up from the heels of his boots, even at his slow pace, and his gloved hands were clasped contently behind his back whilst the frozen shrubberies and alcoves passed, glistening dully in the gray light above. His mind was not fleeting and was not wavering, instead savoring the nearing time of Lent and the French departure. Not that he hadn't welcomed England's guests with all the love and fervor he could muster, but quite admittedly, the young disgrace was tired. He yearned for peace and quiet, and though he knew it would not be given to him in his mind, he hoped at least it would be for his surroundings.

Yet, even so, it seemed just as he had conjured up that hope, he heard the uncertain, almost fearful words of a what sounded like a poor, solemn woman. Pausing in his steps and turning his head if ever by the slightest, his emerald eyes sought out a feminine figure, her eyes turned towards a frozen rosebush with only the pink flush of her cheeks and the length of her elegant neck to show him. Blinking, Henry smiled and advanced just a tiny bit towards her. "My Lady," he spoke kindly, as if already sympathy dripped from both his voice he used and the words he spoke. The green of his eyes flickered to the half rotten rosebush, and then back to the much fairer complexion of the woman speaking to it. "You must consider how intermittent the roses' beauty are. They are so very predictable... and entirely temporary." He smile grew and he dipped his chin in a light presentation of himself. "They could not promise you anything more than a brief bloom in the very unpromising Spring, and perhaps they can show their full worth in the Summer... but what then, my Lady? Where are we to look once winter has come and stripped the land of its floral beauty?" A tiny, breathless chuckle passed his nostrils, as if he already expected her to know what he was going to say.

"There is no beauty more constant than a woman's beauty, my Lady. She will not grow cold and close her petals when the seasons change, nor will she wilt away or prick your finger should you try and touch her." His eyes reflected the brightness of the snow and ice around the, lively and green in their hue as they remained fixated on her fair, pretty features. With a chivalric smile, Henry took a single step backwards and bent lowly at the waist, offering her a knightly bow before rising back up into a smooth stance, his smile still there and his eyes finding quickly their home back on her face. "And there is nothing more beautiful than a woman so pristine in a land frozen in such a pristine state... and when the sun returns, yet will be another sight of honey and warmth that only a woman could befit."
