![]() NICHOLAS CAREW ![]() * We are twice armed, If we fight with faith. . HEY THERE. THE NAME IS INGLOURIOUS, AND I AM EIGHTEEN. I'VE BEEN ROLEPLAYING FOR ABOUT 8+ YEARS AND MY OTHER CHARACTERS WOULD BE TBA. I FOUND FKAC AT CAUTION. OH, BY THE WAY, I READ THE RULES. WANT PROOF? THE CODE WORD IS RICHARD THE LIONHEART WANT TO REACH ME? HERE'S MY IM: JUST HIT ME WITH A PM. =] Please allow me to humbly introduce myself; I am formally known by the name of Sir Nicholas Carew, Knight of the Garter, Lieutenant of Ruysbank and Chief Esquire of His Majesty the King, Master of the Horse and Master of the Forests, and I am the eldest child and only son of Sir Richard Carew of Beddington, the Captain of Calais and Knight Sheriff of Surrey, and Lady Malyn Oxenbridge, the daughter of Sir Robert Oxenbridge of Brede Place, Sussex. I was christened after two of my ancestors from my father's side, who originally descended from the county of Pembrokeshire in the southwestern part of Wales, and I am proud to announce that I come from a very strong-blooded lineage. I do not wish to sound overly arrogant or pompous when I write this, but I have come to believe that my family's success is not only due to the grace of God, but also due to our valor and integrity, which, as I have learnt, are values that have been in our bloodline from generation to generation. Even myself seem to have passed along this legacy. Indeed, I apologize if I appear vain by stating such things, for though they do not sound very modest, they are still true. I believe myself to be a man of honor; or at least I hope people will deem me as one. I can even recognize that same honor in my sisters – they have all proven themselves noble and graceful women, and I feel highly blessed to have siblings who share traits and qualities that I myself respect the most. But before I get carried away with all this talk of valor and nobility, I will briefly go back to the beginning; I was born in the family manor in Beddington in 1489, and I can safely say that I had a rather enjoyable childhood. I grew up in the royal court, as I was placed in His Majesty's household at the age of six, and it was where I received my education. I've always been an athletic individual, so I suppose it was natural that I harbored an interest in jousting; truly, it has become my beloved passion - although my mother and sisters find it quite abhorring. However, I do not think I would ever be able to make them fully understand why I relish it as much as I do; I guess it is simply in a man's nature to cherish something he excels at. Call it inherent pride, or whatever you will. So, as I mentioned, I see myself as a man of intrepidity, and cool judgment. I do not lose my temper easily. I think I have my mother to thank for my calm and undaunted demeanor. She is a strong human being, and I am grateful she has given me these characteristics. I take pride in the fact that I am a man who is truly content with what kind of a person he has become – even when I've had my fair share of mistakes. I've said and done some things that I regret, but I am certain life will eventually grant me a chance to fix what I have broken, because even the most valorous of men can have moments of weakness. I am not perfect, nor I will ever claim to be. But I can certainly say that I look into the future with hope and great anticipation. |
