![]() CHARLES BRANDON ![]() * It's a tale you gotta live to know. . HEY THERE. THE NAME IS Mike (II), AND I AM 21. I'VE BEEN ROLEPLAYING FOR ABOUT 3 Years. I FOUND FKAC AT RPG-D. OH, BY THE WAY, I READ THE RULES. WANT PROOF? THE CODE WORD IS Ulysses S. Grant WANT TO REACH ME? HERE'S MY IM: PM would be easiest. ![]() Charles Brandon was born unto his father and mother, William Brandon and Elizabeth Bruyn. As was a rather common occurrence Charles' mother died upon giving childbirth, he never had the fortune of knowing his mother in life. His birth was a rather unremarkable one, which was fitting considering the family he was born into. His father William had the fortune to serve Henry VII but other than that the family had no inexorable wealth or nobility. He knew not much of his father other than later in life he would owe a great deal of his fortunate happenings to the fact that his father died, rumored by the hand of Richard III, while serving Henry VII in battle. Charles owed his great fortune to his father for when he passed on there was no one left to car for young Charles, luckily for him he was sent to the royal court and although not and heir to any sort of title was cared for based on the loyalty of his father. This action would shape the entirety of Charles' life. To be cared for in the royal court with no noble tie or seat of wealth meant possibilities that would be impossible under normal circumstance suddenly could become a reality. Of course none of this concerned young Charles at the time. In addition to this care in the royal court he also was fortunate enough to be the playmate of young Henry VIII. The two got along rather well, both interested in the more masculine endeavors of athletics be it jousting, tennis and hunting. Throughout their childhood they grew very close to one another, if one did not know any better they would almost seem as if to be brothers. Alas, Charles knew the fundamental difference between the two was the royal blood which flowed through young Henry. The difference did not matter to either though, they were companions through all the trials and tribulations of childhood, whatever those may be while be raised in the royal court. As they grew older they began to develop more into who they would be today, Charles had a sort of quality about him that attracted all to him. This was likely the reason Henry was so fond of him, for he had been exposed to Charles' for most of his childhood and they had so much time together. As they grew in years this fondness that all had for Charles' began to extend to a specific type of person, namely, females. There was an air about Charles that had women swoon over him and he himself was a rather smooth speaker and embraced his new found skills. Charles' himself embraced this so much that morals and any sort of delicacy in matters was naught. He was a respectable young man but his relations spoke otherwise. He would frequently find himself with many a woman in his bed every night and was rather cavalier about it. His attitude was that of a young child always in rebellion, he had no regard for rules or what was appropriate. Much of this likely stemmed from his relations and upbringing with Henry VIII. The affinity for Charles from the now King Henry VIII did nothing but expand the bad boy attitude of Charles, he would sleep with many a woman and would be come even more cavalier with his speech. He could be described as almost animalistic for his enjoyment of sport and combat. This was likely one of the reasons the King always held such a fondness for him because he embodied all that of a full blooded man. Charles was definitely not without his faults, his high standing in the court because of his relation with his majesty made him very headstrong and more willing to speak out. He had an arrogance about him that was unrivaled by many and in combination with a lack of knowledge or willingness for any sort of principles he was despised by many. Namely those of older age and those who felt a stronger inclination to older times. Charles' behavior was offensive to some for his lack of nobility and humble history of his family. This man was able to develop into who he was today because of Henry VIII, and because of this he pushed himself farther than any man would normally do from his background. While many would be appalled by his behavior, his dedication and unwillingness to relent kept him in his majesty's graces, even when he would push beyond his boundaries. The King had such an affinity for him that he was one of his most trusted companions and bestowed the title of Duke of Suffolk to Charles. A move that angered many for Charles again, was not of any noble blood. Charles was there at all times for his majesty and would gladly fight at any time for him. However with his title and responsibility Charles learned to calm himself more than usual, likely as he grew older this attributed to that as well. He was rather ambitious and while being one of the most trusted confidants of his majesty he was put in a position to expand himself further which he would intend to do. Because of his loyalty the King bestowed upon him the title of Lord President of the Council, he was now officially one of the most integral and important people to his majesty. Based off of his actions, Charles would appear a brute to some, but he knew how to speak for himself and offer his opinion more respectably. He would confide much with his King as would he at appropriate times when it was deemed necessary. With such a dedication though led to thoughts of how lost Charles would be without him. Charles knew he owed everything to his King and that alone deserved the undying loyalty he gave, not to mention their history through childhood. It terrified Charles to think if there were ever a time he would fall from his majesty's grace. He hoped and prayed there would never be a time this could happen, and would do anything in his power to prevent it. The King and Norfolk had noticed Charles incredibly cavalier attitude towards his many female partners and eventually began to find someone for Charles to court. As the possibility for suitors was many it was not a hard or long search before one was found for Charles. He was to be wed to Catherine Howard, she would hopefully be able to tame some of the wild out of Charles life and offer him something others could not. Only time would tell if this would be a success but Charles love and dedication to the King would appear to extend to his beloved wife whom the King and Norfolk had helped arrange for him. Whatever was to befall this realm, Charles knew he would stand loyally by his majesty, nothing would ever put him at ends with his majesty and he intended to continue on his success and fulfill all of his ambitions whichever those turned out to be as the future began to unfold. It was a time of joy for Charles though being recently married and also being privy to the goings on of his greatest friend and ally, Henry VIII. |
