Joyce Leigh

21, Joyce was betrothed at 19 and remained that way until the war with France, where she received news that her betrothed -John Stanney- had so dreadfully fallen. This matters little to her, though, for during her service to her step-aunt, the Duchess Anne of Norfolk, she met him only once or twice. Once the Duchess passed, Joyce was sent to Court and now serves as a lady-in-waiting to the Queen with her sister Isabel.

For the most part, Joyce is a very level-headed and logic-seeking woman. Little bothers or upsets her, and it seems life to her is something to merely quietly accept. Plans sort of frighten her, for she likes to take the days only as they come: "one breath at a time." She loves music, playing it, singing it, dancing to it, a little bit of falconry, and her journals, endless as they are. She has a hard time, though, finding the appropriate emotions for certain situations. Sometimes it's difficult for her to sympathize or understand someone's problems or own emotions, but she is a fine listener and has no problem in offering her advice - welcomed or not. For the most part she draws little attention to herself, but is still widely known for her mindful strength and how she is stubborn to let much faze her.

Friends: ah, yes of course! I see her getting along with pretty much anyone; she's pretty open and accepting, unless of course you're just twisted. -like JShils-

Enemies: anyone against the Howards, I'd assume? I've also determined Joyce harbors many, many opinions that she might blurt out in the heat of the moment or in-depth conversation, so I could see her accidentally but very easily offending someone.

Lovers: I made Joyce to DIIIIE of the sweat for the subplot, but I would absolutely ADORE a quick case of the looooove fever. maybe a case of the Romeo and Juliet infatuation? then she dies, and he can just cry over her xD

ANYTHING ELSE, TELL ME PLEES.

Big sister and little sister need a thread about -- well, anything! They could talk about the whole Norfolk thing or just have FLUFF being back together and shizz!

Since Joyce isn't sunshine and diabetes, I think Anne would like her and the could do artsy stuff together or something.

And JDuds and Joyce could maybe go falconing?

Up for anything between Joyce and Norfolk :) Possibly NOT scaring her, offending her, and causing her to run away from him ROFL.

ISABEL, yes, Joyce needs her sister. We should definitely have them talk about what happened with Norfolk; I sort of see Joyce trying to rationalize things for Isabel and telling her to just GOOSEFRABA. Do you want me to start it?

MIKE! DEAR STEP-UNCLE! I'm trying to determine how Joyce sees Norfolk. She served his wife for a few years, whom she was very loyal to, so I kind of think she'll see Norfolk for all that he is, but she'll be able to wrap her head around his tact probably more than her sister :P maybe even respect him for it, because she knows what this life of men is like and knows what it takes. Also, with the whole BC and the King's mistress thing, all she can say is "Surely she enjoyed it." Really, she sides with Norfolk in that whole matter, because hey, it worked, she's a Duchess now. Also she can KIND OF look on objectively since she's not QUITE a Howard, but, she might as well be. Thread?
