![]() Mary Clairemonte ![]() * I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined... I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned . HEY THERE. THE NAME IS *sigh* Wills, AND I AM OLD. I'VE BEEN ROLEPLAYING FOR ABOUT FOREVER AND MY OTHER CHARACTERS WOULD BE William Spencer, William Compton, Arthur Lambert, Johnny de Vere of Linley, Francois de Valois. I FOUND FKAC AT RPGD. OH, BY THE WAY, I READ THE RULES. WANT PROOF? THE CODE WORD IS George Villiers bishes WANT TO REACH ME? HERE'S MY IM: AIMWilliamHSpencer I have been described as quick witted, charming, alluring, clever, and I admittedly have a slightly short temper that flares when I need to defend myself. I was raised to be a proper lady and to know my place, and I assuredly do, but once I (or my family) is crossed, I never forget it. It is a woman's first duty to see to the elevation of her husband, sons, and family, but I reserve room in there for myself as best I can within the constraints of polite society. I have learned to find ways to experience life without sacrificing my duties, and as I am currently widowed, life is more a bit more merry and free. I fully intend to keep it that way, as it is quite pleasurable to have all forms of suitors lining up to pay homage to my Ohhh William, what a dear brother you are! Rest-assured your sister is no whore and will not be. Someone would be lucky to get up my skirts let alone bed me. I prefer to entertain men with music and poetry and the occasional errant lewd comment, just to prove I am no novice to be easily squished by a man. Nothing beyond what is charming, although slightly shocking, I toe that line well, with modest immodesty. I have no desire to control anyone, but I would like to be respected by any man whom I'd bind myself to serve for the rest of my life, because I will give it everything to please him as I am expected to. That is surely not too much to ask after having done my duties as an obedient daughter and wife once, marrying a complete stranger. I would much rather fit my eye on fashion and keeping up all proper appearances than meddling publicly where I do not belong, but that does not mean I do not have a mind or opinions. Coming from a great and noble family, who came over with William the Conquerer, I carry myself with the grace and nobility of a lady worthy of any man. I have enough education to hold conversation about many topics and to understand many things. I speak French, as my father did, although he was away for most of my childhood before he died, and I also am versed in some Latin and some Greek. In my married boredom I read a lot and took rides in the country, as I ride as well as many men, if not better. Indeed, I rode along on many hunts and hawking parties with my husband, whom I do honestly miss now that he is gone. He was very sickly for much of our marriage and died of consumption last year, but we were quite happy when he was well. While being sociable, I do not let many into my private life, as happy as I am for throngs in public. I care nothing for intrigue and the maneuvering of men, that is for them to risk, and for me to reap the rewards. Court is a place for merriment and responsibilities to me, and I avoid that drab cruelty of men moving things this way and that, changing their opinions with fickle precision to the political tides. It is rather droll to watch now that I do not have a husband who can be harmed by it, so long as it does not harm my brother, siblings, or uncles. There is much to keep my ear out for with such a large family. Honestly, it is a relief my William is proving quite capable of handling himself...having known him as the boy our grandfather squished quite easily, it is rather surprisingly. Perhaps the adage about knowing how to obey before knowing how to command is quite correct! Perhaps I should keep that in mind for any future sons. Yes, that is my thought, that I will have sons one day, as every proper lady should. It is the best measure of her worth! Until I find a man that I would marry, I will enjoy the freedom of entertaining potential suitors and being a lady to the queen. Rest assured, as I tell my brother, when a worthy man comes along, I will definitively...tie my favours to his lance and live quite contently (if not happily) ever after. One must dream! |
