![]() SIR THOMAS BOLEYN ![]() * It isn't possible to never tell the truth...but in reality I'm getting away with murder. . HEY THERE. THE NAME IS BRANDAY, AND I AM OLD, WITH GRAY HAIR. SRSLY. I'VE BEEN ROLEPLAYING FOR ABOUT GOING ON EIGHT YEARS NOW AND MY OTHER CHARACTERS WOULD BE WAY TOO MANY. LOOK ON THE SIDEBAR.. I FOUND FKAC AT SOMEWHERE OUT THERE. OH, BY THE WAY, I READ THE RULES. WANT PROOF? THE CODE WORD IS admin edit WANT TO REACH ME? HERE'S MY IM: CARRIER PIGEON ONLY. You have most definitely heard of my last name. Boleyn. It is a name that is well known around court, seeing as my daughters Anne and Mary are here, as well as my son, George. I do wish that my son wouldn't make such a fool of himself, but that is neither here nor there. You are wanting to know about me, I assume, or otherwise you would not be reading this tawdry history about my life. I shall try and be as brief as I can, for I know that you have places to go and people to see. I am not a very good story teller anyhow...especially when it comes to details about my life. I was born to Sir William Boleyn and Lady Margaret Boleyn (nee Butler, an Irish noblewoman) at Hever Castle in Kent, the eldest of four children, in the year 1471. It was in me always to be ambitious, and to want more. After all, I was the rightful heir to the baronies of Ormonde and Hoo, yet I would not achieve my right for a long time yet. While waiting, I existed on a meager 50 pounds per year and whatever my wife could get from my father-in-law, the 2nd Duke of Norfolk. It was not much. Our fortunes were low for a very long time, seeing as the 2nd Duke fought for the White Rose, Richard III, instead of Henry VII, at the infamous Bosworth Field battle. What better way was there to achieve more than to put myself into the services of the king? And that is exactly what I did...I fought for Henry VII against the Cornish rebels protesting taxation. Slowly, I started to gain some favor, not much, though, with the king, because of my heroic efforts in the battle. I did not have enough income to sustain a great appearance at court. 50 pounds per year was barely enough to feed our three children: George, Mary, and Anne. So of course, I needed to wait until I had the necessary income. Which came in 1505, when my father passed from this world. I did not wish his death, of course not; my father and I always had an amicable relationship. But because of his passing, I inherited the Boleyn and Butler estates, as well as the Baronies of Ormonde and Hoo. Now, I had just enough standing and income to be noticed and recognized by the king for my services in fighting against the Cornish rebels. He made me a squire of the body and when he passed in the year of our Lord, 1509, I was set to gain favor from his son, the new king, Henry VIII. I was knighted not long after his coronation, to where I was now Sir Thomas Boleyn. His Majesty also granted me great favor by making me the joint constable of Norwich Castle and one of the Sheriffs of Kent. This is where I stand today, in terms of where I am at court. My brother-in-law, Thomas Howard, has worked to gain back his title and wealth, and he helps me out as much as he can. He'll have to, for I do not have enough to give for my daughter's dowries. Now, to the lighter side of things: I like to joust, and love nothing more than to be suited in armor on a horse and winning jousting matches (I have won many). I also love to ride, go hawking, and play bowls and shovelboard whenever I have the time. I also have a talent for languages, and I can speak fluent French and Latin due to my grand education. This education I have been able to grant to all of my children, and they are also very well-learned. Most importantly, I am loyal to my family, and to my sovereign lord and master, His Majesty, the King. Written in the year of our Lord, December 31, 1511 |
