Wearing a deep wine colour, William Spencer pushed an errant lock of dark hair away from his nose. It was yet another day like any other day. He had come from a short tête-à-tête in his room. A lovely bit of frivolity that made him meet the late afternoon with a bit more vigour, having been properly regenerated. He had, of course, seen to his appearance before making his way into the clock court. Not very much changed in the time since he had last been there. He walked around in search of some diversion, his hands behind his back as he went along, blue eyes moving this way and that, taking notice of who was talking to whom. William was beginning to put some things together about the various alliances. He also took the time to gauge body language of people in their discourse. Having been originally intended to go into law, before his brother died, William had learned a great deal about self-presentation and what various things could mean. The tall gentleman paused in his wanderings (said wanderings likely seemed purposeful as he did not want to look idle), to observe one of his cousins speaking to another young man. Somewhere in the back of his mind, however, his subconscious was still dallying with the image of one Lady Elizabeth Grey. |
