HERE'S MY IM: AIM,MSN,YAHOO [/align]Comtesse de Coventry, Portland, et Montpensier; Lady of the court Lord Alexander Brennan [father – Count of Portland and Coventry; deceased] Lady Amelia Brennan [mother – Comtesse de Montpensier; deceased] Lord Nicholas Brennan [younger brother – 19; disinherited] Lady Catherine Brennan [younger sister - 17] history: Josephine was born in the County of Portland to Lord Alexander Brennan and his wife, Lady Amelia. Though her parents later received the son that they had hoped for four years later, it would not last for long. Josephine's education as what was normal for a woman, as her younger brother was groomed to become the heir to her parents titles. This would all change when Josephine turned eighteen. As a result of being caught with a woman of less stature than himself, and it later revealed that they had secretly married, Nicholas Brennan was disinherited and cast from the family home. As a result, the burden of inheritence fell to Josephine. On the insistence of her father, Josephine's mother took her to France and introduced her to the French king. A year later, Lord Alexander Brennan died, and per his will, Josephine became Countess of Portland and Coventry. Her father, having been a staunch loyalist to Henry VII, insisted that his daughter become a lady in waiting to his wife. However, given that Josephine had become family to the French king, she refused. She spent almost a year in the French court and when she turned nineteen, inherited the county of Montpensier when her mother died. At nineteen, not only was she past the initial marriage age, but Josephine was countess of three domains. That in itself made her a desired woman. When she turned twenty, Josephine was allowed to return to England after she made the request of the king of France, though she apparently forever remained in his good graces. As a result, three French servants and fellow Lady in Waiting also returned with her, the fellow lady in waiting, her mother's niece, her cousin, the heiress to the County of Alencon. Upon her return to England, Josephine remained in her father's home for a year. After silently debating whether to go to the court or not, she made up her mind. Though her arrival in court went unnoticed initially, Josephine eventually became lady in waiting to Queen Margaret. With Margaret's death, Josephine chose not to become a lady in waiting to the new queen and instead simply remains steadfast at court. Personality: Josephine is a hard one to peg down, either roaming about from one place to another, or being a complete homebody. She is highly family oriented, her group setting more clannish than an actual family. She is willing to go any lengths for their well being and welfare. When not doing this, she is usually leading a quiet and somewhat reclusive life away from civilization. Well…..as far from civilization as one can get. Arrogance seems to be one of her best weapons against everyone except family. She is one who frequently enjoys stimulating conversations as an outlet for her abundant energy. For her, truth is a lateral extension of the concept of justice, and it is rare to find her distorting the truth, unless she is protecting someone. She can be relied on to be the only candid to a point lacking diplomacy. But with her, the truth just seems to be blurted out with the very best of intentions. Since there is no intended malice from her, she often blurts out the truth with a slip of the tongue. Good intentions are apparently part of her psychological make-up because of her strong compassion for others. Wrong! As much as it might seem like that on the surface and to her family, it is not. If her good faith is violated, she is quick to lose her temper and can very easily display an ability to put the offending party in place. She has no need for her own space, and if that need is not respected, she will simply walk away. Josephine is pure: she lacks guile, deceit, pretense, but she is by no means innocent. Josephine is the good girl, the understanding girl, the knowing girl, and the best friend that you could ever have. While she is not all there upstairs, she is not completely insane, and is actually surprisingly intelligent. Josephine is observant and has a good mind for details, although she has a tendency to daze out, especially if the topic is not important. However, when it comes to court, she manages to keep everything in order quite well. She’s loud, boisterous, and can have a tongue as sharp as claws when pushed the wrong direction. With those she considers friends, Josephine is extremely territorial. Josephine is sometimes branded as the playgirl, the way she goes through men, and although hurting people is never her intention, it happens. Such is life, she will say. Often laid back and easy, she does have a competitive streak. As well as a mean streak – if you get n her bad side, watch out. She doesn’t take much seriously, always playing the jester, and has a somewhat cynical and jaded view of life. She covers her affection and emotions with snarky sarcasm and comments. At first glance, she may appear quite reclusive, yet intense. Upon further inspection, she loses none of her intensity, but gains a surprisingly warmth, keen sense of irony, and protectiveness towards those that she has developed an affection for that can at times border on overbearing and possessive. Manipulating is one of the things that Josephine prides herself on. Consequently, manipulating comes hand in hand with a great way with words, or as Josephine often indentifies it, an intellectual complex. Yes, Josephine thinks very highly of herself. Except, unlike her cohorts, she carries herself with a silent confidence. |
