I was born one of six sons to Sir Randle Brereton and Eleanor Dutton. We are a Cheshire landowning family and, as such, are more gentry than nobility though my father is the knight Chamberlain of Chester. He was also a very important man during the reign of Henry VII and due to that, he expected my brothers and I to enter the royal service when we were old enough.

I am the less boisterous and prefer quieter pursuits. When my brothers rolled around in the mud and wrestled, I would be in the house with a book. Sometimes it would be scripture. Other times it would be Latin. I desperately wanted to find a way to stand out from my brothers and in my mother's eyes, I did. I was more learned and cultured. Because of that, my mother doted on me.

I am extremely fond of hunting, archery and cards. I may not be very successful in either cards or archery, but I seem to have found my calling when it comes to hunting. I usually bring home something to my mother's delight.

Out of the six of us, two of my brothers refused to go to court and stayed with our parents until they married. Before me, all three of my brothers who went have become grooms to the King. I would count myself quite fortunate to be one. I am only going to court now, sure of myself and my abilities. I may even find a wife.

I am greatly saddened to leave my mother, who I have always been close to, but I plan to regularly visit if I can. I am a mere newcomer, however, so it may be some time before I am able. I very much look forward to the challenge. My brothers believe me to have no ambition, but I mean to make a name for myself by any means necessary.

Hi, Ami (again)! I'll be your friendly app commenter today. While looking at William, his application needs to be more filled out, for I don't feel I really know a whole lot about him beyond the basics. Googling historical characters really helps, for you can take what you know, incorporate it into the app, and then take some liberties (for example, with Wolsey, I had him born in 1461 instead of 1471 and added a few other things). Look up William, edit and flesh him out a bit more, and we'll look at your application again. :)

Hey Brandy!

There's very little information out there about William as far as I can find. They don't say much about him, really. When I first wrote this app, I looked everywhere. I think I'm just going to ask you to archive this for now. I'll try again when I'm back from my leave of absence. (:
