* Drop of a hat she's as willing as
Playful as a pussy cat
Then momentarily out of action
Temporarily out of gas
To absolutely drive you wild
She's out to get you

    - - - - Overall Personality,
Over the span of eighteen years of her life, Magdalen's personality as a young woman deviated very little from her demeanor as a child. Uninterested in most of the average childrens games, she was drawn to puzzles, and pretending to be a miniature version of her mother. Though she grew to despise her in her later years, as a child she looked upon her mother with nothing but adoration. Maturing at a young age (always wanting to be treated like her older sisters), she developed a keen eye for observation and understanding of how to manipulate a situation to please her. Starting small with tricking her mother into spending time with her by pretending to have difficult with reading, she soon learned how to play the game to her advantage. Spoiled but what she achieved for herself, and was given by her father, Magdalen's character cannot be described without pointing out her certain amount of self focus. Always competing with her siblings to be the best at everything, one of her chief ways keeping herself out of a slump was to remind herself of just what she held over them. While this is hardly an excuse for caring chiefly for herself over others (for the most part), it's the reasoning for why she is the way she is.

Magdalen is far from perfect despite the fact that she likes to live in a state of denial from time to time. When she chooses to admit at being faulted, her character's confident exterior is softened to something almost completely likable. . though such an event is truly a rare occasion. Faulted by pride, Madalen doesn't like to be told she is wrong. Even if she knows she is wrong, she would consider it highly offensive if someone said so to her face. As such, Magdalen has never relished the company of many women. Jealous and scheming, they often remind her too much of her mother's character. While she tolerates their company for the sake of public image, she has few true friends in life, and even fewer among the court. Finding the company of men much more appealing, she enjoys an intelligent exchange of words, and perhaps occasionally innocent flirting. With high standards in man, Magdalen is not a woman to allow her affections to wander without just cause. While she enjoys time among men, she is careful not to do anything to bring her virtue into question. . . though, no doubt there are those who desire to find yet another flaw in her makeup.

For all her shortcomings, Magdalen has features in her character that make her appealing to many. Intelligent, and well versed in French and Latin, her education was the best her family could afford. Having a particular fondness for the classics, Magdalen has always enjoyed reading, and has a talent for public readings. Often providing entertainment with the readings of poetry and books for Princess Mary, Magdalen's talent does not go to waste. Clever, and quick witted, she often does what she can to hide the full extent of her sharp mind. . . after all, men never like a know a woman has the potential to outsmart them. Or at least most men. An educated woman can be a dangerous woman, though Magdalen hardly wants to risk her reputation by stepping out of bounds. While she wants the best for herself, she is no fool. To seek beyond her grasp is not a risk she would be willing to take for fear of loosing everything she has already achieved.

Those she cares for, she regards with respect and loyalty. . . but once again, the number of people who fall under such a category are limited to very few. Perhaps its to her disadvantage to be so selective in her friends. . but at least it keeps her safe (even if it's just in her mind). While she may be brave in certain aspects of her life, Magdalen is a coward when it comes to matters of the heart. . even in friendship. Perhaps it's her mother's betrayal of sorts, or her own insecurity, Magdalen hurts herself just as much as she believe she protects herself. While her mother wishes her to disgrace herself at court in some form, Magdalen has sets her sights on making a name for herself in marriage. . . and as an envied woman among others.

    - - - - Overall History,
"I have always heard it said that fortune favors the brave. . . but, in all honesty, I believe such cliches are just a way for those of noble virtues to feel more. . . content with themselves. After all, fortune is a very broad term. What is fortune to one, may very well be something entirely different to another. As far as my family is concerned, fortune is gifted to us in the form of power, and prestige. My father was not a man of complete virtues, and fortune certainly did not favor him because he was brave (though bravery was not a quality that he lacked). Fortune favored him because he was determined to rise in a world that pushed so many others into the filth beneath our feet. I was born at Naworth Castle in Cumberland to William Dacre, 3rd Baron Dacre of Gilsland, 2nd Baron Greystoke, and Elizabeth Talbot. I was one among nine children, though my parents made it a key point in their life to provide their children with the greatest of education. As a powerful family in the Northern Border, I never went wanting as a child. . or at least wanting of anything of a materialistic nature. Unfortunately, with such a vast family the one thing that I desire was attention. As one of the younger children (and female at that) in the Dacre family I was often overlooked unintentionally. My mother did as best she could, and perhaps the greatest thing she ever gave me was an education. Though we had tutors for nearly ever other subject, she insisted upon teaching every one of us how to read and write. Her daily lessons were my only time spent alone with her without the distraction of my other siblings. While her time with me was limited due to the high demand of her attention around the house, I figured out a means to make sure I received the parental attention that I so longed for. . or at least from one of my parents. While I caught on very quickly to her lessons, I chose to pretend that I struggled with grasping even the simplest concept. While my ploy lasted for a while, it was not long until she caught onto my devious plot to have her to myself.

It was then that my mother realized what potential I had as a young woman. As I grew older, my keen eye for finding a situation to play to my advantage differentiated me from my siblings. While their talents and skills varied from music to high intellect, I was gifted in observation and understanding. To dissect a situation and determine how to achieve a specific outcome was a skill my father had passed down to me. My mother, on the other hand was responsible for my fair features. Though I have been told of my beauty a number of times in life, I have always been aware of my distinct features. My mother always told me that pride was a fault greater than any other. Unfortunately, my mothers realization that my beauty outshone her own was just the beginning of what would be the start of the detonation of our relationship. Clever, and fast to learn what I was taught, my mother came to view me as a threat. Jealous of me, for good reason (if I may be so bold) she quickly sought to displace me from the Dacre home as swiftly as possible. While she was not nearly as cunning as my father, she could work her will when the time called for him. Convincing him that it was time for me to marry at fifteen, she urged him to find my a husband as quickly as possible for fear of me growing too old for a man's interest. Unaware of her true reasons for her urgency, he arranged a match for me to Robert Worthington.

While he was suitable, I hardly cared much for this dull manner. Only days prior to the date of our wedding (which had been delayed to the sudden death of his mother) we went out for a ride just before nightfall. It was a beautiful evening, and I was eager to escape my mother. I still don't remember everything in it's entirety. . the doctor told me that the shock of it had created a block in my mind. . . We were crossing a stream, and the horse slipped on a loose rock. Both of us fell. While I was bruised and confused, and soaked to the bone I was worried most about the fact that my new gown would now be ruined. . I didn't even think to check on Robert until I saw him. The site will eternally be fixed in my brain of his body twisted strangely over the rocks, the blood from his broken skull pouring down the river. I don't remember anything else after that. . . only waking to my bed with a doctor and my mother over me. I loved riding before that. . . but with the memory of such a terrible accident fixed in my mind I have never been able to approach a horse without an uncontrollable fear seizing me. I made no effort to hide the fact that I blamed my mother for what had happened. Yet, after three years I grew past dwelling on such morbid thoughts. Fluent in both French, and Latin as well as being ripe for the picking by men, my mother viewed me as more of a threat than ever. So, in order to take of me as quickly as possible she arranged for me to fill a position as Lady-In-Waiting to Princess Mary. Little did she know this was the exact place I wanted to be. I always thought it too much a waste to be hidden away in some man's estate. . after all, what good was an expensive education and a pretty face if you could not flaunt it? "

Oh, for Pete's sake, not another one! :P

The only thing I suggest in the personality is the part about her features and things in her character being appealing to many, because that's pretty close to saying that they would be appealing to everyone. But that's minor, because the rest of the app is made of awesome! So you are now...
