    - - - - Overall Personality,

Allison is known to be a quiet, soft-spoken and humble girl. She is always respectful and kind to people she likes. The woman will always smile when she enjoys her company. She is very patient with most, and is perfectly happy to sit in the garden all day, sewing or reading a book. Allison prefers to listen though, and will never speak if she feels it is unnecessary. This causes some to interpret her as cold and distant, despite her sweet demeanor.

Like many women of the court, she is educated, as is a large fan of books, languages and music. She has read many books over the years. One of her largest pleasures is reading. She adores being able to sit down outdoors or by a fireplace and read. The strange worlds and places have always intrigued her, and have influenced some of her views on the world.

This love is aided by her love of languages. She was taught to speak French from a young age. She finds the skill very useful, and loves being able to understand people from more than one country. She feels that it opens a person to an entirely different world. It allows a person to expand their knowledge and learn the opinions and beliefs of others, and possibly share your own. To her, language is a border that she has been able to breach, though very slightly, with French.

Her third love is music. She is a talented singer, and though poor with the lyre, loves to listen to others. She has always been fond of the small connections music can form. When she was younger, her and her sisters would sing to each other to signal when someone was coming. It acted as a form of entertainment when there was nothing else. Allison loves all three activities and skills openly, and is generally happy to discuss them with others.

…So long as they are women that is. Allison grew up in a house filled with women. There were no men at all, unless they were a visitor or worker who she had no connection with. Her parents separated when she was of a young age, giving her a negative view on men. She has been thought to be unyielding and unamicable towards men. She finds them troublesome a majority of the time, and has yet to find a man that she can would call a friend. Her attitude is completely different between men and women.

Unlike many women her age, she is rarely flirtatious, which is quite obvious. This is mainly due to her hate for men. It is affected by her sexuality though, which she keeps secret.

  • - - - - Family Members, Henry Clifford (deceased) Tobias Clifford (deceased) John Clifford (father), Sybil Clifford (mother), Dorothy Clifford (aunt), Elinor Clifford, Joan Clifford, Rose Clifford, Isabel Clifford (sisters)

    - - - - Overall History,
Allison was born the eldest of seven children, with four younger sisters and two brothers. Her father, proud of his two sons, ignored her and her sisters completely, leaving little room for good impression. This only worsened when her brothers died of sweat fever, a month apart from each other. She had almost lost a sister to the sickness, who barely recovered. This formed a huge rift between her parents. They rarely spoke to each other. Her father was devastated by the deaths, and blamed her mother for it. He resented her and her sisters. Slowly, the family fell apart. The family grew strained, and the household became unbearable. No one knew when another argument would erupt. Allison took a large amount abuse from her father, who she knew resented her for not being a son. She developed a large hatred for her father over the years.

Finally, while she was still young, her parents separated, and she, her mother, and her four sisters left. They moved in with her aunt, a kindly woman with no husband at the time. Allison and her sisters grew up in a house filled with women. There was not a single man who lived in her aunt’s house. The only men she met were either visitors, or workers, who came to the house briefly before leaving. This increased her dislike for men, as she realized how much nicer life was without them.

Life became pleasant again. She and her sisters would play in the fields with the cook’s daughter, or sew, or ride. For the first time in many years, Allison felt free. As she grew older, her adventures were replaced with books and education. The girl discovered her love of books, and was proud to know more than her younger siblings, though she never boasted. She proved to be a clever and intelligent young girl, and learnt quickly.

As her lessons continued, her mother decided it best to take Allison to court. The young girl was astounded. She came wide-eyed, but shy and frightened at the same time. All around her were gowns and beautiful women who she aspired to be. Every time she came she would enjoy herself thoroughly. The only aspect of court life she did not enjoy was the men. It seemed that they were always trying to ruin her visits.

Allison went through this process many times, until she comfortable with the court, and the etiquette. Everything seemed perfect, until her hatred for men began to cause more problems for her. As she aged, she began harboring feelings for women, instead of men like most. She knew very well that this was not normal, and has kept it a secret from the world. If revealed, she knew it was a sin. Allison returned to court once her education was complete, this time alone, and open to the new life.

Hey there, Izzy! Brandy here. Sorry this took so long. There are a few things you'll need to edit, and I think you'll be good to go!

1. Women back then, even nobility, were educated well enough to just read and write. There were a few exceptions, but overall, it was just reading, writing, maybe some music and languages. So the phrase, "like many women of court, Allison was educated" is inaccurate.

2. In the personality, if someone was sweet, them just being silent would not, to me, give me the impression that she is cold and distant. If anything, I would think she was shy. Also, someone who was as humble as Allison wouldn't really be TOO opinionated.

3. Go ahead and use the new template for your application.

Once these things are edited, you'll be good to go! :)
