    - - - - Overall Personality,
When describing the character of Francis Bryan the first term that would come to mind would be "rake". To be labeled a "rake" one must conduct himself with various accounts of immoral conduct -- something Francis Bryan has certainly done. He has been known to spend a great deal of his families inherited wealth on gambling, drinking and women. The personalities of rakes are generally quite similar, they are generally very selfish people. The spend lavishly on themselves and think little to none of the well-being of their family or future generations. Francis is certainly selfish but perhaps not to this extent. Although he generally does think mainly of himself it would be untrue to say he was selfish to forget his family or their legacy entirely. People in this category are generally quite impulsive, another trait which Francis has acquired over time. He acts on whims, he spends on whims, chases women on whims - he does what he wants to when he wants to which has nearly got him in trouble on more than one occasion. Like most womanisers he is also quite vain. From the time he was a young boy he was quite handsome and has come to know this as a fact about himself. He certainly thinks he can obtain any woman he wants and believes he can rely on his good looks and charm to help him accomplish this.

Francis is a very driven young man. He is very head-strong and works hard to remain in the kings good graces. He is undeniably loyal to King Henry VII and follows his order without hesitation. For the reason Francis has been known to be a bit cut-throat, a bit cold. Even if the King's order is against someone whom might be associated or close to Francis, Francis follows through with the order without hesitation. While most think he is cold-hearted that simply isn't true. Francis would never show publicly that he has felt guilt for orders he has followed because it would not be appropriate. Francis has always done quite well at accepting authority and has never really been known to be rebellious in nature.

Despite some very disheartening characteristics Francis is simply not one sided. He is a very intelligent, intellectual young man. He has always been naturally gifted in many areas of life and tends to be a quick learner. He has always been smarter then he is ever given credit for which is fine by him because he believes it leads to advantages for himself. Although most would consider him completely uncaring because he has stepped on the heads and shoulders of many to get into the kings good graces he is not completely without love. He shows a great deal of affection for his son and even at times a great deal for his wife. No matter the great deal of immoral dealings he may have behind their backs as well as the great deal of their wealth he may spend on himself he has always ensured his family is never without -- they are always cared for. Like many young men in this time he is simply power and money driven -- being driven by these two things unfortunately brings out the worst in ones character. Instead of most seeing his more caring and sensitive side which does exist, they will see the more ruthless side that exists to ensure himself and his family a great deal of wealth, pride and achievement.

  • - - - - Family Members,
    Father -- Sir Thomas Bryan
    Mother -- Margaret Bourchier
    Sister -- Elizabeth Bryan
    Sister -- Margaret Bryan
    - - - - Overall History,

Francis Bryan was born in a family of wealth and achievements. Francis grandfather, whom died shortly after his birth, was a wealthy man who at the time of his passing held lands in Buckinghamshire as well as other countries. Francis was the first born to Sir Thomas Bryan, whom was knight for King Henry VII, and Margaret Bryan, who is a governess.

Francis family was more then wealthy enough to ensure he had the best tutors and received the best education from a very young age. Being the only son of Sir Thomas Bryan he became like most other only sons - his father and mothers main focus and protege of the family. The majority of his youth was spent in Cheydinhall, Buckinghamshire where he was born. From a very young age he began studying foreign languages. His uncle, on his mother's side, was an accomplished linguist and gave a young Francis Bryan his start. The boy was bright like his family members before him and showed great potential as a future linguist. Francis uncle who has since passed away was very much his mentor. Francis always spoke of his uncle like a father figure -- this probably stems from the fact he saw his father very little when he was young and spent a great deal of time with his uncle.

When Francis was educated as much as possible by tutors and his uncle it was time for his parents to make a decision about enrolling their son in a formal institution. Thomas Bryan always had dreams of his son becoming an important part of the court of the king, so the decision was actually easily made. Francis was shipped off to study at Oxford. It was here at Oxford where Francis would find hobbies both good and bad for himself. Like many boys his age he took interest in jousting and hunting. Although he never mastered either of those, he did fair quite well at sailing. Unfortunately along withe these hobbies which although are for leisure are also respectable, Francis found other things to entertain himself which wouldn't be as appealing to most. Francis earned himself reference as a rake as a teenage boy. He found music, liquor, gambling and social events all at the same time. A great deal of his families wealth was spent on these hobbies, unbeknown-st to his father of course who was quite a honorable man. Along with these vices Francis also found a love for women -- and of course it wouldn't simply be just one woman. It was during the time that Francis began chasing women, any women really. However he managed to keep his less respectable interest under wraps.

As his father had hoped after years of being a loyal and useful courtier, his son also joined the ranks. It was shortly after his son joined that Sir Thomas Bryan took ill and passed away. A few short months after his passing Francis was married to Phillipa Spice. Although Francis attempted his first real monogamous relationship it never lasted, within months his wife was pregnant with their first child and Francis had already begun affairs with other women. It seemed as though Phillipa was aware but did little to try and stop her husband instead she gave birth to their first child, Edmund Bryan, and focused her attention on raising the boy. A few short years after his father passed and his marriage to Phillipa the great King Henry VII passed away as well. Bryan remained a courtier now for the King's son King Henry VIII. It was during this time that many peoples opinions changed on Francis. Francis became quite close with the King and became what one of what many called his "minions". This meant that he did dirty work for the King when needed and of course was always there to blindly support his King no matter the decision. Francis has built quite a good repore with the King at this time and intends on keeping it and strengthening this friendship overtime. Francis feels as though he has met and surpassed his fathers dreams for him.

To this day he still remains a rake, spending lavishly on immoral things and chasing women. Francis remains a courtier - he is also an accomplished linguist, poet, and sailor. In his spare time he still competes in jousting as well as hunting. Francis is now twenty-four years of age, he remains married to his first wife Phillipa Byran with whom he has one son, Edmund Bryan who is now age three.

  • - - - - Roleplay Sample,
**I don't know if this sample will do -- if not I can create something that fits this timeline.... since this post was for a VERY modern futuristic rpg. Just let me know, hopefully this will work. **

Levon had never really been this anxious in his life. There had been times when he had been nervous about a few different events in particular - never like this before. His ability to put off the inevitable truly was something for the books. Like most normal men, he had never even put thought into whether or not he was a firm supporter of the draft. Obviously his parents had been drafted and they turned out just fine.... but things didn't always work that way. Growing up he had heard the horror stories of what went on behind closed doors - what if that closed door was to be his now.

Levon shook his head trying to shake the anxious feeling. Either way it was happening and there was really nothing he could have done to affect the outcome. Either way he was to eventually been married off - so really putting thought into it at an earlier age wouldn't have helped him. Levon decided to keep himself busy. He glanced around the small room looking for something to keep him occupied. His eyes focused on the small package that was on the table just across from him. Levon quickly snatched up the package and looked inside.

It was pretty much a prep kit for his day and night with his new wife. The rings, the keys, everything they would need to start this new life together. Of course there was some literature to explain it all. Most people would have exhausted themselves by now reading over it making sure everything was in order. Levon, being not the most literate person, had simply skipped over the reading material. His initial thoughts had been, "How hard can it be?"

Glancing down at the few pages of information he quickly had a change of heart. What if there HAD been something in there that was essential to read. Levon snatched for the papers quickly and brought them upwards to a level in which he could read them. Quickly he began scanning over the information trying to see if there was anything in particular he should remember. Before getting far into the information packet a knock came at the door.

Levon looked up to the clock on the wall....

    It was time.

"Just a second..." He shouted skipping ahead a couple pages glancing more frantically for anything that said "important" or "please read". By this point even if he located something it would be far to late to make mental note of it now - he was in too much of a panic.

Another tap came at the door and then it slowly creaked open. Levon shuffled the papers together and quickly set them down on the small table where he had only moments ago retrieved them from. Levon quickly turned his attention to the woman who would be officiating the ceremony. His usual cute cooked smile appeared across his face as he attempted to appear as though he wasn't last minute studying.

"Let's do this..." he said with a nod and a wink making his way over toward the woman. If there was something he was good at doing, that was putting on a show. He could be the worlds best actor - right now he looked completely confident in what he was about to do.... but truthfully he had no idea what that was.
