  • - - - - Eye Color, Blue, the shades varying depending on the type of light she is in. When she is out in bright sunlight, the color is a very vivid cerulean. When she is caught by the light of the candle, the blue is very murky, and gray.
    - - - - Hair Color, Medium to dark brown, depending on the season.
    - - - - General Look,

Though she is now at court, she doesn't like the pomp and circumstance that goes along with it. She abhors painting her lips and cheeks and wearing the scents that might make a man's pulse race. The extent of such things that she might do is wear a flower in her hair, or pinch her cheeks to where they will turn a crimson color, and that is it. She never tries to act above her station, and does not stick her nose up in the air; nor does she stare down at her feet. She is neither embarrassed nor ashamed at her lot in life.

Beatrice grew up in a laid-back environment, and thus, it was depicted in her style for most of her life. She kept her dress very simple...no extra frills such as jewels or laces, and no extra ribbons; earth colors such as brown, blue, and green. She never wore the clothes of a pauper, however; you could definitely tell she came from the upper middle-class rung of the ladder with the make of the clothing and the type of fabrics. Now that she is the mistress of a wealthy duke, her style in clothing has improved somewhat, and she allows herself a few more frills and jewels, but not so much to where she looks like a painted peacock.

    - - - - Loathes,

    - Her estranged husband; she could not get along with him if her life depended on it.

-Her husband can entice her to extreme anger sometimes.
-The things her status as a mistress gives her.

    - - - - Dreams, Being allowed to life her life the way she wants to...she likes having her own self-made set of rules and expectations.

    - - - - Fears, That she might be married to Thomas for the rest of her natural-born life.

    - - - - Overall Personality,

Because Beatrice was raised by her father and surrounded by men from a very early age, this caused her to have a very practical and no-nonsense approach to her life. She prefers to have structure and organization in her life, and prefers to be in control of things and the situation she is in. If something is not going to be of any use to her, she will not go after it and not make any attempt to have anyone get that thing for her.

Double this no-nonsense approach with the education her father gave her in mathematics and finance, and this makes her a very logical woman, who has a clear picture of what she needs to do and the way things are. She always has a plan and a way to accomplish that plan. She also pays extreme attention to details, and because of this, can become too focused on her ideas. Call it stubborn, for that can be Beatrice at times...she is correct and is loathe to think otherwise. At times, she tends to ignore other people’s ideas and their input, and hurts their feelings without meaning to. She also does this in personal life situations, and applies logic and reason to situations in lieu of emotions.

This does not mean that Beatrice is an unkind woman...she just tends to overthink things at times. She likes people, she just doesn't like being around crowds of them all at once. Beatrice will smile if something strikes her as funny, and sometimes, she will even laugh.

  • - - - - Family Members, Thomas Brooke, father; 8th Baron of Cobham.
    Dorothy Brooke (Haydon), mother (deceased).
George Brooke, brother, 9th Baron of Cobham.
    Thomas Wyatt, estranged husband.

    - - - - Overall History,

Thomas Brooke, the Baron of Cobham, wanted more children to fill up the family estate of Elmridge. The future was planned, but something happened that was not part of the plan. His wife, Dorothy, died in childbirth with Beatrice, and thus his dreams of a big family were not to be. He did not blame the little girl, who grew to look more like her mother with each passing day, and she soon became his unintended favorite. However, he wanted her to grow up with some modicum of education and instead of entrusting her to a governess, he took it upon himself to educate his daughter.

While his son was under the tutelage of different instructors, Thomas taught his daughter how to keep up a home, and how to manage finances, something unheard of...at least for a woman. Her father did not find that strange, though, and Beatrice ended up loving numbers and figures. She loved that she could add two numbers together and get a very straightforward answer. Because of this, she grew into and as such has grown into a very logical and down-to-earth woman.

As soon as she became of a "proper age", which was the age of seventeen, her father decided to bring her to court, in the hopes that she would find a suitable husband. Not long after she arrived, she met a dashing young man by the name of Thomas Wyatt, who worked for his father, an adviser to His Majesty, Henry VII. He'd recite her poetry, and though she wasn't the type of woman to go for the hearts and flowers aspect of his words, she thought he was a good man, a kind man, and did not argue when he asked her father for permission to marry her.

It did not take long for the two to realize that they had nothing in common. She thinks his choice of career is rather ridiculous, and for some reason, he finds Beatrice to be shallow and materialistic, when she is anything but. The two drifted apart, and could no longer stand being in the same room, let alone the same marriage. She cared not for what he did, and vice versa for Thomas. Finally, the marriage became so strained that the two chose to seperate.

She chose to come to court, where she caught the eye of a wealthy Duke. He asked if she would become his mistress, and she agreed. Why not? He gave her nice gifts and attention, and she enjoys that very much. At least he is everything her estranged husband is not, and that is realistic.

Hiya! I'm excited you've picked up Beatrice! Just a couple nitpicks.

- 'and for some reason, he finds Beatrice to be shallow and materialistic, when she is anything but.' I haven't checked this with Thomas application, but if it doesn't say his opinion of Beatrice to this effect you might want to PM him to get his opinion or take this part out.
- People actually didn't have middle names in medieval times. Weird!
- This doesn't have to be done in order to be accepted, but you should PM Dukes and see if any of them wants Beatrice as a mistress. So you have extra plotting!

In response! :)

1. It says in Thomas' history that he finds her to be shallow and materialistic. FYI. :)

2. Middle name taken out.

3. I will see if I can PM some Dukes! :)
