Empire of Scorya The last place the incarnation of the Overdeity was supposedly in. They are a theocracy, ruled by the Temple to the Overdeity. Population of this country is mostly made up of people with Human ancestry, but there are people of Dwarven and Dragonborn ancestry serving in the military. Inquisitors of the Church are mostly Human. Though the Temple of the Overdeity exists here, there is a lot of Freedom of Religion as the various temples to the Old Gods still exist and function. Holy Bearded Empire The flip side of the coin. The Holy Bearded Empire is made up mostly of people of Dwarven descent, and those who live there but are not of Dwarven descent are treated as second class citizens. The Temple of the Overdeity, Dwarven edition rules here. There are scattered amounts of people of Human descent, along with Dragonborn that serve in their armies. However, the most important thing of the Bearded Empire's army was created with the return of magic. An army of Clockwork Warforged. Unaligned Countries A set of ten countries who don't know which Empire rules over them, having been conquered by each several times over. It is pointless for them to side with either one because within five years time they will end up changing hands again. Most of the western countries are currently ruled over by the Holy Bearded Empire, while the rest are ruled by the Empire of Scorya. People of all racial descents exist here, though it's mostly interspersed between Human and Dwarven. A few Halfling descendants exist here, along with the Caravans of Tiefling Descendants, known as the Keperati, which travel between all lands. A few Deva descendants may exist, but Devas are uncommon in general. Mesonon The only true neutral country in all of WoNN. It is a country of merchants, run by people of all races. It is also said that there is a connection to the Feywild here. Gnome descendants run the banks, Halfling descendants run the businesses, people of Human, Dwarven and Dragonborn descent pose as merchant guards. This place has never been conquered due to it being nearly unapproachable by an army by sea or by land. This is also the only place where Elladrin live inside Creation, otherwise they live inside the Feywild. Isla De Fae This Island, once under control of the Empire of Scorya, is the first place magic started to return, and it is the only known place where the Feywild touches Creation. It is an island to be sure, but people walking from its eastern shore will never reach its western shore. Elves dwell on this island, as do Half-Elves. Most Humans died off a short while after the Half Elves were born. A few Elladrin travel from the Feywild, but other than that, this island is made up mostly of Elves and Half-Elves. Chokoran Archipelago The Chokoran Archipelago consists of several tribal islands where tribes of Halflings still exist. As there has not been much breeding with anything but other Halflings, the lack of magic only caused those living here to grow a few inches. They shun most technology, and they dislike steel. Desert of the Holy Dragon Where those of Dragonborn descent come from. It is said that once a great empire existed here, a testament to the god of the Dragons. People from here can breathe fire, lightning, cold, acid, or whatever and their throats are unharmed. They have been able to do so since the return of magic, as have all Dragonborn Descendants. Savage Lands Not many venture into the Savage Lands and make it back to tell the tale. This is the closest place to where Orcus fell, years ago that is still habitable. Weird things happen in the savage lands and people there exist to do so. People of Goliath and Shifter Descent still exist here... and Orcs exist further to the north. In what little towns there are in the Savage lands, Half Orcs exist from the raping of humans by Orcs. Goliath descendants exist on islands to the west because of their conquering nature. Other Tribes Keperati Perhaps because of their cursed blood, those of Tiefling descent never are accepted by any but themselves. Because of this, they formed their own tribe of people and travel around, earning their keep by repairing items, and performing for people. Not only Tiefling descendants are Keperati, but a few normal Humans descendants and Halfling descendants are as well. Those that married into the tribe, or were inducted into it. Noring This tribe of Goliath Descendants used longships to conquer islands and other lands. Before they were beaten back by the Overdeity's empires, they once owned most of known Creation. |

"Keperati are cursed, unwelcome in all places, but all are welcome within the Fleet." Keperati Cultural Description Keperati are an ethnicity of humans that descend from those of cursed blood, Tieflings. Though they no longer resemble their demonic ancestors, there is still a stigma about associating with them. Keperati are treated much like those of the Romani Tribes by both the Scoryans and members of the Holy Bearded Empire. Most Elves and Elladrin will associate with a Keperati, mostly because they do not resemble their ancestors. Nothing demonic stands out about the average member of the Keperati Clans. Since no country save for Mesonon will even allow them to have a permanent structure, Keperati travel in fleets or caravans. When on land, they travel in wagons, and when at sea, they travel in fleets of ships. More often than not, they are found on the ships because the land areas are far too dangerous for a mobile clan to raise a family on. All those of Tiefling descent are Keperati, but not all Keperati are of Tiefling descent. It is possible for a non-clan to be adopted into the clan, usually by marriage. Any children of theirs is full Keperati, and also bears the curse. Keperati have a clan structure to their ways. A clan is often made up of a small fleet of ships or a single caravan of wagons. They all travel in the same direction, and are under the same self-governing laws. Keperati are fairly liberal about what they allow within their caravans or fleets. Sexual permiscuity is encouraged, as it means an increase in clan size, which means an increase in influence during clan summits. There is very little that can be done that will get one cast out of a clan. Each clan is marked by a certain pattern in the way their cloaks are designed. Keperati are firm believers, due to their cursed blood, in the idea of sins of the father passing on to the son. If a member of a Keperati clan is cast out, no other clan may adopt them into it. They have betrayed what it is to be Keperati, and any of their children are also clanless. Rarely does it happen that a Keperati will renounce their clan, and when that does happen, they may be adopted by another clan if the Keperati is renouncing theirs in favor of the other. However, if they renounce the clan structure altogether, then the same rules apply to them as those who have been cast out. And their children as well. It takes two full generations before a member of a clanless family can be even considered to be readopted back into the fleet. Keperati and other Ethnicities "You just Kepped me, didn't you?" Keperati interact with all ethnicities pretty much the same. They act as shrewd merchants and tinkers who will fix things when they come to town. They will also tend to put on shows that include their women dancing. There's not a human alive that doesn't find the exoctic dances of the Keperati alluring. Their music is also something that tends to bring people by... and their mode of dress. Keperati women tend to not wear much else while on the seas other than pants. It's too restrictive to wear anything that covers their chests. They will tend to throw on armor should anything dangerous be spotted, but overall, they will tend to remain topless. Keperati dance clothes are strange, implying much, but revealing little. In the Empire of Scorya, and in the Holy Bearded Empire, Keperati are kept at arm's length. They are under heavy restrictions about what they can sell, how they can sell it, and how long they can remain near a town. They are also subject to random searches of the caravan, whenever a guard platoon feels like it, and the guards may seize anything that they feel is suspicious. Keperati are notorious in both countries for being full of heretical leaning people. |
