Gender: Female Full Title: The Sun-Eyed Set Common name: Set Role: Student SID: 835400 Dorm: 101 Age: 20 City-State: Candoth Birthday: August 740 Appearance: Has a small elven-like face. Pointed chin and narrow jawline. Medium build and height for a female - 5'8 sound good? Relatively well developed, nothing really drastic, but definately note-worthy. Remarkable features are her eyes, which appear as living flames trapped in two spheres (for a cruddy description) and her hair, which is particularily noted for it's innumerable layers and how it reflects any light source in firy tones. Clothing: "Dressed to kill" is putting it lightly. Has a particularily fine sense on what's appealing to the boys at the academy, as well as a fine sense on what's appealing to the boys on and off the field. Is particularily skilled at concealing armor and weapons in her clothes, in an accessable and functional way. Weapons: Daggers. Lots of 'em, for different purposes. Personality: Personality wise, The Sun-Eyed Set is a little off. Has a history of unpleasentness, but really is a nice girl. (or so she insists) Strength: Dagger work, killing things on a large scale. Weakness: Low constitution, unable to stand her own in a 'front-line' situation. Also sucks with any weapon that is not a dagger. History: The Sun-Eyed Set is both a mystery and a myth in the lands of Candoth. Born of both normal parents, The Sun-Eyed Set, at around age five, began developing what the people of Candoth call a "Tempest". That is, a natural affinity to an element. Extremely rare, The Sun-Eyed Set developed an extreme "Tempest" towards temperature, particularily hot temperatures. The people of Candoth began to fear the child Set, and so along with her family, The Sun-Eyed Set was banished to the fringes of Candoth to live a life of moderate comfort, until one day a strange man appeared. The Sun-Eyed Set has never forgiven the man for what he'd done, but took it upon herself to leave behind her home in isolation and travel across the realms, to Everland Academy, in search of, among other things, the man. A poem of The Sun-Eyed Set was found a time after her departure. It is unclear who Morgan is at this time, but it describes both The Sun-Eyed Set, and her Tempest Affinity. Always dying, never dead; Ever ending, never ended; Loathed in darkness, Clothed in light, She comes, to end a world, As morning ends the night. These lines were writ By Morgan, free, Who shall, the day she dies, See this prophecy." * RP Sample: The city before her burned, flames rising higher into the night. Wildly, her eyes burned in hues of ocres and crimsons, burning brighter and brighter as the city (becoming more and more distant now) burned hotter and hotter, higher and higher. It's destruction offered her no comfort. Turning, now, to face what little army remained standing from that place, The Sun-Eyed Set smiles openly, a faint light like flames shining through. Her hands find daggers in them then. The metal blades began to heat up, began glowing red. She looked at the frontmen slightly crooked, and stopped smiling. "I should have known you'd show up sooner or later." "Yes... I suppose you should have." "Your too late." "I think I may be this time, yes. But I'm not here to fight, so you can put those away -" The daggers flew, red-hot and swiftly, from her hands into the bodies of two seperate men each, melting through their shields and armor and burning through their flesh and bone. Both stuck in the hearts of the men, and they died instantly, both falling to the ground and quite possibly saying some shortened last words. The Sun-Eyed Set didn't care though - she never did care. The Sun-Eyed Set smiled again, and turned her back. Her hair billowed like copper smoke, solid, yet fluid, as it moved; reflecting the city's flames in itself. The Sun-Eyed Set stepped closer to her mysterious follower (for he'd been behind her that entire time) and looked up at him, her pale face contrasting the night. Her eyes diminished in intensity, settling for an alive copperbrown hue, and her smile was a deep blackened pit now, as dark as the night between them. Behind her, the daggers embedded in the men melted and burned deeper, then exploded in a violent flash. Mist, thin and wispy, trailed from the bodies into her hands, and reformed into two identical daggers, in the same style as the others she carried. Gasing up at the man, smiling, The Sun-Eyed Set pressed her palms and the daggers against the mans chest. Non-flintchingly, the man gased back down at her, and whispered down to her "Find them at the Acadamy to the East, in Everland." He pressed her palms (and subsequently the daggers) tighter to his chest with his own rough hands, and added "Just... don't burn the place down, please?" They seperated. The flames in the city stopped burning, and died out in the night. The Sun-Eyed Set snapped her head up, awake now. "What a crazy dream..." she thought to herself. It wasn't the first one like this she'd had. It was exactly like that man had showed her... without actually showing her. She'd been younger then, when he'd come that night, and she never understood what he did or why he did it. But it was why she was here at the Academy now. Special Power: "Tempest" - affinity towards temperatures, warmer ones in particular. The Sun-Eyed Set's limits are (area-wise) just below freezing temperature, by no more than -10C; and the highest temperature Set can reach normally is approx. 110C. "Tempest" requires Set to focus on her goal, and more importantly, focus on the area that the "tempest" will affect. Larger areas require more focus, and have less of a global warming / cooling effect in short periods of time than smaller areas. "Tempest" in relation to certain tasks has a different effect. Instantaneous effects of Set's "Tempest" are simple tasks: boiling or freezing water, adding to the temperature of an open flame, increasing flame light radius for a few examples. Long-term uses of The Sun-Eyed Set's "Tempest" include combustion of certain items (wood, cloth, other flammable materials - things that can burn), or conditioning the air warmer / cooler in larger areas like a small classroom. *Modified poem from Lord of Light, Roger Zelazny, 1968 |

Overall, not too bad... you're right, RP sample a bit weak. Spelling and grammar problems (watch the your/you're thing) And you sound just a bit too much like a lost Egyptian pharaoh/Phoenix from X-Men for my liking... Defined height would be nice, though not necessary. Have varying "normal" heights it appears... Power is... overdone... I don't like the hot daggers going through people's armor, a tad excessive. My last question is why is she a student if a~ she is so obviously not human and b~ if she is eternal and it isn't necessary for her to get training? Interesting poem :ph43r: |

There's so much behind my smile that I can never show. I never said to be like me, I say to be like you and make a difference. ~Marilyn Manson I believe in everything until it's disproved. I gave it back after I stamped my thing... so ha... As well, I'm all for Set being around... but hey, I said I liked her as a character, not a wannabe demi-god. I would suggest power: shoot out fire balls. With an accent of burning tears. And wasn't she dressed in orange, red and purple robes? Cause that ain't dressin to kill anyone. Woot Jean Grey!!!!!! |
