You
Why did you decide to join the Guild?
I recently created a character on DB as I wasn't enjoying playing my Hunter on Sporeggar and wanted to try out the alliance quests/point of view. I wanted to join a race specific RP guild as I enjoy the flavour it gives to role playing.

What other Role-playing guilds have you been in?
Shattered Blades on Sporeggar. They were a Blood Elf only guild dedicated to the glory of Kael'thas Sunstrider, even after he was shown up to be a little evil.

Do you have any special 'interests', like writing stories, drawing or anything of the like?
Organising other people. I write the odd story and I'm a software engineer by profession but when it comes to online games I tend to fill the Sergeant role of organisations, so bossing people around and organising the day-to-day running of things.

What do you expect from the Guild?
Good roleplaying, meeting new people, progressing the story of my character.

How good is your knowledge of English?
Well, I'm a native speaker and I think I'm reasonably proficient but I'm not educated in the language particularly.

Anything else you might want to add about yourself?
I'm in quite a hard core FPS clan which takes a fair bit of my time and I'm also in the Red Blades guild on Sporeggar, the mercenary follow on group of Shattered Blades. I still find time for about 5-10 hours of DB based WoW gaming each weak. I'm very pro-PvP and would probably be trying to get others interested in both raiding and PvPing together as well as RP if I joined. I'm a powergamer as well as a RPer. I've dated Ariyuni for a little over 3 years and we've lived together for the last year, so we role play together all the time :)

Your character
Why did you name your character the way you did?
Ariyuni named my character :$ I'm rubbish at thinking up names. We wanted something that sounded exotic, but slightly harsher sounding than Ariyuni. She is a warrior after all.

What is your character's personality?
She's a warrior, she understands that there is a time and a place for violence and death. She also understands that it should be avoided at all costs. She's fairly level headed, she's not easy to anger. She has learnt the lessons of the Draenei's past, she doesn't believe that a race can get by being all sweetness and light all the time and that eventually someone has to make a stand. She is prepared to be that person and she is prepared to die in the process if needed. She can also be quite light hearted and is still far younger than most Draenei. She's extremely protective of Ariyuni but not irrational about it. They were both born on the same day and were raised together in the same commune. Now they are a couple, waiting to join a new commune.

How do you think your character will fit with the guild concept?
She will be a sword where ever one is needed. She will offer her guidance and her thoughts. She will be able to defend the draenei as needed and be involved in any wPvP events organised. She's happy to aid the Night Elves whenever they call. She's also looking to reconnect with a family. Ariyuni is all she has currently and although she loves Ariyuni it is not the same as basking in the glow of family. She is closest to your definition of a Justicar, but she's not that hardline. I would expect her to fulfill the role of peacekeaper.

How easy is your character to anger?
Not very. Her rage is her tool, not her master. However, as rage is her tool sometimes it can overflow. Luckily Ariyuni is normally there to when that happens and can usually calm Shriyaro with a meer word, touch, or look.

What are your character's views on Death Knights, Warlocks and Orcs?
Death Knights are an aboration, but they are not inherently evil. Those Death Knights who have broken from the Lich King and are attempting to do good should be aided. Those who attempt to do evil, for whatever reason, should be destroyed. Similarly with warlocks. Shriyaro doesn't believe Orcs are evil, in fact she sees the Orcs under Thrall as one of the best hopes to defeat the evil in the world. However, she does not believe they are reliable as a species and will destroy any who try and damage the Draenei or who she believes to be evil.

IC letter:

May The Light find you well.

Many have been the days since I last knew what it was to be in a community and great has become my desire to return to the warm embrace of my brothers and sisters. I left the Exodar soon after it crashed along with my partner-to-be, Ariyuni, desiring to learn more of the land of Azeroth while we waited for the priests to decide on a suitable commune for us. Since then we have travelled across large portions of the world and discovered much, but we have also lost touch a little with what it is to be Drainei. Now we find ourselves in Stormwind City, the great heart of the Alliance in the Eastern Kingdoms and a priest sent us word that Ere Argus might be willing to accept us into their lives. I understand that Ere Argus is dedicated to protecting the Draenei here on Azeroth as well as forging new relationships with the other races of this world. These two things have been shown to be of great import as I have travelled Azeroth. Too few truly follow the light, too few understand our people and too many would rather us destroyed rather than accept our ways and our help.

Our travels have often be harsh and we have frequently met with those who would try and harm us. This has meant we have had to change our ways and learn new skills. While Ariyuni has dedicated herself increasingly to the light and is fast becoming a wise, beautiful and talented priest and healer I have applied myself to learning the martial traditions of this world. In learning the ways of the warrior I hope to be able to defend that which is most sacred to me, my people, my faith, this world, and Ariyuni. With those of the shadow the light can be of only so much help. Eventually there is a need to cut out the wound. It is my intention to be the blade, so that others need not be tainted by the deed. I hope to find work suitable for my talents within Ere Argus.

Shriyaro.

While I don't see any reason not to stamp this as 'Approved', I do feel inclined to inform you that you shouldn't be too hopeful about instanced PvP and PvE as part of the guild (although it is encouraged, there is just not enough activity at the moment to supplement it).

None the less, this application is Approved (1), and is still up for review by other members and officers. You will be notified of any change or important notes arising about your application.

Approved, though as Sanara said, we're not much of a PvE guild, and what PvP we do, tends to be of the world PvP variety.

Does that preclude me from encouraging more PvE/PvP should I be accepted? :)

It would really come down to how far you'd take it. I doubt it'll be a problem though, the type who take those fields too far generally don't apply to 'hardcorez arrpee' guilds.

With 3 separate Guild members approving of this application, I'll extend the offer for an In Character interview.

IC letter:

To Shriyaro,
May the Light embrace you. Your letter was recieved in good condition despite the tribulations of our time, and it has been read aloud to the commune.
We would be glad to welcome both you and your partner into the Commune. The best way to go about this would be for you to both come to the Commune's gathering the 2nd day of the 10th month (2 days from now) outside of the Exodar, on Azuremyst Isle.
We will gather there at 20:30 to deal with internal matters, and your formal induction into the commune could easily be handled from there.

Nice application. I was also in the Sporeggarian Blades of the Sun / Shattered (literally...) Blades, what was the name of your character?

You did well to migrate.
