Right! So for those of you who don't wish to read that massive tome of rules, some of which are absolutely not related to this forum whatsoever (yay for copypasta!) I decided to trim it up a bit. Fortunately, there's a summary list a short way down so I myself didn't have to read each one and understand it before summarizing it (yay for doing things intelligently!). So, without further ado, the short list: 1) NO E-DRAMA, FLAMING, TROLLING, ET CETERA. Don't insult other members or whine about breaking up with an e-girlfriend or e-boyfriend that you've never even bloody met. If there's a legitimate reason for an outburst, see Rule 6. 2) NO ALTERNATE ACCOUNTS. There's really no need for it, especially if you follow Rule 1. Any alternate accounts will be promptly deleted. If you want to make a new account and erase your old one, let the Admins know, but be sure to give them a good reason. Changing your name is not a good reason. 3) NO NECRO-POSTING. Let old threads rest in peace. If you really really must respond to an old thread, like if you have some life-or-death information that must be posted, consider, at the most, making a new thread. Old threads would basically be anything that isn't on the front page, or more than a month since the last post. 4) NO ILLEGAL, ADULT, OR OFFENSIVE MATERIAL WHATSOEVER. This means avatars, signatures, attachments, private messages, profiles, anything and everything. Illegal includes things like cracks, hacks, warez and links to pirated or stolen software, as well as certain types of porn. Adult includes porn and other mature content. Offensive material includes stereotyping, racism, gore and the like. This is a zero-tolerance thing, folks. Don't try or else your account will be removed so fast it'll make your head spin. Keep it PG-13, or keep it out of this forum. 5) NO NETSPEAK AND 1337SPEAK. Sure, it can be funny as the punchline to a joke, and we all know how wonderful it is paired up with an adorable kitten. Small infringements of this rule are fine and will be ignored, a good example being the capitalized portion of this rule. 7}{!5 !5 4/\/07}{3R 600|] 3X4/\/\P|_3. |]0/\/7 |]0 7}{!5. 3\/4R. 0R J00 \/\/!|_|_ 83 PWNZ0R3D!!1!one 6) REPORT ANY ISSUES WITH ANOTHER MEMBER TO THE ADMINS OR MODS IMMEDIATELY. Do not assume responsibility and try to fix the problem yourself. This leads to breaking Rule 1, and both you and the member you have issues with will not be allowed here. Note that you don't have to be afraid to report an issue with an Admin or a Mod. They have to follow these rules too, and they don't get special treatment. 7) KEEP DEBATES AND ANGER IN THE PROPER FORUM. These forums have a slightly less strict policy regarding pissyness and sensitive material, however they aren't your private playground for expressing your raw opinion. Keep it mature, and keep it out of the rest of the forum. The golden rule is: don't be a jerk. We're all here to have a good time and read a good comic, and nobody wants that to be ruined because some 13 year old e-pimp just broke up with his 12 year old e-girlfriend whom he's known for a week and has never met or even heard his/her voice. If you feel the overwhelming urge to break these rules, find your way to 4chan and release there. We'll still be here when you grow up. Breaking these rules will result in warnings, temporary/permanent bans, or IP blocks depending on the severity of the infringement. If you wish to appeal a judgment against you, contact one of the Admins or Mods and let us know. |

XD Maybe I should just make this topic the official rules (granted, modifying them by adding in the banning and warning policies), but these are good ^^ Also, some of the things you said actually are funny ^^" |

Well this is a momentous occasion. I intended to be funny, and I succeeded. I think this is the first time that's ever happened. Coolness. And I probably should note that these rules are subject to change and alteration as the situation and time and the very structure of the forum see fit. Any announcements regarding an updated list of rules will be made in the Announcements and News forum. Also, it's worth noting that it's impossible to condense any global ethical or moral system into a few short lines. Things will come up that are not prepared for, and will have to be dealt with in a way that is not described in these rules, or even any rules anywhere. When such things come up, they will be dealt with as best they can. Some of those dealings may even break the rules. The most that can be said is that the Admins and Mods have been given the responsibility to maintain a level of maturity and quality which should appeal to the Book of Change fanbase and the general populace, and they will do everything in their power to uphold that responsibility and make this forum a safe and happy place to express opinion and communicate with like minds. |
