In the beginning there was the great god Fe'Hentos who created the world of Elmentia and the 15 original races. His favorite were the humans, in who hearts would seek him frequently. Fe'Hentos, after such creation, grew weary however as humankind became increasingly sinful; resulting to murder, rape, incest and war in greed and drifting away from his benevolent grasp. And so he bound himself to the Elmentia Stone and chose 12 mortals of purest heart for whom may govern the world justly and retain the balance of good and evil. These select few mortals were given the elixir of eternal life and a power specific to each. He entrusted them such power in hopes that they may use it to uphold peace in a world that had become to concern the weakened god; he called the twelve The High Council: The Elphines translating in old Elmentian to "The Children of Elmentia" Under the High Council, the people began to feel at ease and in peace with one another, but as such peace continued, the land of Elmentia and it's citizens began to neglect the temples and their recognition of their loving god Fe'hentos and The High Council. The Elphines, who still contained fragments of their human selves, became jealous of this lack of respect and worship and so used their power to submerge the Kingdom of Te'Lethai beneath the surrounding oceans as punishment; allowing their minds to be consumed by ill thoughts of the carefree and prosperous people. In his deep regret, Fe'Hentos' wrath ripened in the loss of his beloved people due to the Council's greed and resentment and set about to destroy humankind as well as the High Council in order to cleanse the world in which all things associated with humans became vile in his eyes. In their dismay of the reality of their actions and the impending vengeance of the almighty, their last effort to salvage the world and the people therein caused the Elphines to revolt against the power of the stone, sacrificing themselves to break it into fragments which were distributed over the world. And so in the world, lies secretly 12 Elphines embued with fragments of the Elmentia Stone, unknowing of their destiny, as the world turns and the people are left to govern there own destinies. |
