I was just thinking why is it that we are so different from our predecessors and the old clan/team. And i've been wondering for a while and sometimes stumbled upon the same answer as now but overlooked it. I think the values are really what made us who we were. It finally hit me like a brick when I thought about some of the old moments with the old members who some of them are still around and what I heard when I went to fort lewis that sparked my memory.

It was the values, as long as you save a teammate dieing dosen't matter if they carry on to complete the mission. It wasn't all about being the best or anything it was about watching each others back putting that before caring about yourself that made us so great.

Loyalty
Honor
Courage
Respect
Selfessness
Leadership
Duty
Discipline

I think those were the keys to our great successes. Didn't matter if it was a team of two or a team of 12. We always got the job done because we honored those values and we constantly watched the back of the person next to us. Not only did it bring honor to our name but it made us just that much better and ahead of the curb. The problem is we've lost that sense of who we are and should be. We all need to take it upon ourselves to work on that.
As we walk to our death along the dirt paved road, we do not fear our death. We stare into the eyes of death each and every day, every waking moment. We are soldiers, born to kill and born to protect. We have taken an oath, which we bare with us forever until our day of death... Blood in our eyes, broken ribs, iron in our throats we will carry on. We are soldiers, protecting our homeland is our duty/life.
