Oops a last thing --

As far as ER beng better seasons 1-8 i think EVERYONE agrees to that. I mean they were the real seasons, where the characters were really wokred out WELL. They had histories (I.E. Peter's deaf son or Mark and Lizzie) and they pursued them, not like now where they skip along from plot to plot.

Honestly as a newbie to the show, I think ER is great. You guys have to realize that ER now has to compete with "Without A Trace" a show I loved and used to watch. That show is great, anyway that is my point. Now that it has to complete with that, they have to breathe some life into "ER". Honestly before I watched ER, I thought it was some boring medical drama crap. Now that I have actually watched it I am interested in the storylines of some of the characters. Anyway my point is that maybe they have to have someone steal a tank, or have a helicopter drop on someone, to draw in new viewers. I now watch ER and have since stopped watching Without A Trace, but believe me ER has to watch out, because that show is REALLY good (and has on some occasions BEAT ER in the ratings). Overall I like season 11 b/c duh I am a carter and kem fan, enuff said, lol. My fave eppys. of season 11 "Carter is love" and "back in the world". I love Carter and Kem, and Neela and Michael. :D

I'm a realitive newbie to the show since this is the first full season I've been able to see. I got hooked on ER watching reruns of seasons 8 and 9 but I agree with most of you, season eleven did nothing for me. I COMPLETLY agree that they need to make the show more of an ensamble cast again, from what I've seen of the earlier seasons they were more light hearted and had 'moments.' Dramatic moments, comedic moments, romantic moments. This season didn't leave me with much of anything.
Abby is hands down my favorite character but she's suffocating in her own air time, and others are being lost in their lack of airtime (duh we've said it over and over again but it's true!)
Most of all I feel cheated, it didn't seem like ER lived up to it's own title. I'm still addicted but only in hopes that I'll see something better than the last time.

Abby's character is over-played in my opinion. Sure, the show has always had the "starring" character who was always, basically, the lead and i think we all know that Maura will probably get that role now.

I think that the show needs to get back some of its tongue in cheek humour that it used to have. I can't remember much from series 3-6 since it's been SO long since I watched but... I jsut know that the storylines were much more compelling and we knew what the hell was going on in each episode as oposed to jumping from one under-developed pltline to another...

Rant over.

Let's hope season 12 has some of ER's placed humour back :)

that's so true...... i like Abby, it's my favourite character, but are too focus on her.....for me it's fine but still ER is lossing the way the used to be......I've only seen from season 6 ( :( ) but still in those it looks a great friendship, every character have their moments on screen, drama histories and all that without use helicopters and stuff like that......and now everything it's missing,

I really hope next season will better, I still have my hops for some episodes from these season like "The providers" just they inly need focs in the old ER times.....the good ones

kisses Pau! :D

I think season 11 is much better than season 10 when I think they hit a downfall. I liked the idea of bringing back patients that Carter had seen when he was a student I think that was a great idea as it shows how his character has matured. The only reasonwhy season 11 slightly disappointed me is because of the loss of 3 characters and Kerry not having as much air time as she used to which is a shame. Overall I liked season 11

ER is still a good show but it has gone down hill. Not enough time is spent on developing characters or patients. We don't have the same bonds between characters any more. Season 11 was good, hell it was great, but not the best season to date, which after 11 years is hardly suprising.

Before a good ER storyline was hard hitting and gripping and didn't need fancy special effects to be sunning. I don't think the level of acting has dropped, just the level of the writing. In the begining it was fresh and new but now, due to modern society and network bosses, ER is having to sensationalise things to please said bosses and draw in new crowds. It seems as modern society has changed and evolved ER has had to change and evolve with it and it is no longer the kind of show it's die hard viewers know and love.

I really did like Season 11 on the whole but the older seasons are better.

Honestly, I think Season 11 beats Season 9 and 10 completely. I like how they focused on the residents and med students but also got personal with a couple of the main characters. Abby is my favorite character so I loved how much improvement she's made.

i love season11! i only started watching ER then so i don't know what it was like before. but my mum said that it is nowhere near as good as before, as have a lot of people, and she said that season 11 was starting to get better and focus more on the actual ER than before in seasons like 10.

Season 11 is a vast improvement on Season 10 but it's still not back up to the great standards it used to have. Still an awesome show though.

I think, compared to season 10, season 11 has been a vast improvement...but hey, I'm a diehard Leland Orser fan, so I'm probably biased...lol...
