Well, I haven't lost one single ep since season 1. I am one of the greatest fans of ER. But I have to agree with some of you. In this season the boat is lost, about to sink. The way the new writters are letting such important characters to go is disgusting. Lizzy, Deb, even Carter, he is not the shadow of the old Carter of so many awesome eps. In my opinion, the boat is lightly sinking since Mark and Benton are gone. It includes Romano's death, the end of Carter and Abby romance. You guys know the story of the frog being cooked without notice? It seems the same with ER. I do hope they finish it soon, before it becomes a caricature of our beloved ER.

Deb?! The fact they let go of Ming-Na finally is a bloody miricle. The woman bought nothing to the show and wasn't aorund half the time anyway. She should've gone long ago.

Mark's death was a good storyline for ER. It was right that he ended with that particular one. He ended his run with dignity and class on such a difficult storyline and i for one think it was totally fair that it should be his last.

And IMO, Carby sucked. Who wants the 'Carter and Abby Show?' (You watch this post get flamed!)

Romano, yes, shouldn't have gone. That was a dumb storyline. Corday, i'm not sure about until i see the episode. How can Carter be strong and powerful or whatever when he's just lost his child and Kems buggered off? Give S11 a chance, we're not even halfway through yet. I haven't seen it, but you never know it could get better.

I am happy of couple of kem and carter because the couple is soon finish ! I don't want to see kem !!! the realizers should put a small adventure between romano and lizy !!! that would have been funny !!! but unfortunately, romano is left, and the realizers asked alex knigston to leave the series because they found than she was too old ... :iffy:

I have to agree with the original post. I had posted my opinion in another thread before I found this one. Sorry...a newbie here. There is a definate change this season. I am not upset if I miss and episode. Last season they were getting too far fetched and this season is...well not bad...but different. It is a different I do not care for at all. I am not on the edge of my seat or trying to guess what is to happen next. I hope things get better. I am scared that this may be its final season with the way things are going.

I have many likes and dislikes of this season, but I do for every season.. Personally, I am liking this season a bit more than last because I was sick and tired of the entire Carter is the god of ER B.S. He is no better than anyone else on the show.

I like Abby, I really do... and the last episode of her being "Dr. Napped" was really good. It reminded me a lot of Carol a few seasons back though.. but then TPTB like to do that kind of thing.

I liked Neela in the beginning, but now.. she is starting to have a story line to similar to Chen's... the whining and oh woe as me crap is getting boring.. They need to set her straight... either be a doctor or leave. :irritated:

Luka and Sam are very nice together, I haven't been much of a Luka fan, but seeing him now, I like him more and more.

I am a bit dissapointed about Elizabeth leaving. I know.... Mark is gone... but there is Ella... we will never know how she grows up now. And even though Rachel was a pest.. we will never know how she turns out either. It's like when Peter left.. so did Reese.. they are leaving to many loose ends.

Susan's air time sucks this season.. when we git a glimpse of her now she is lacking tose snappy come backs as she had before. I am very glad to see her as Chief of Emergency Medicine now though. The talk she had with Kerry in the lounge was nice... It really did explain quite a bit about why Kerry acted like she did towards the staff. Would like to see a bit of Chuck and their baby Cosmo.

Pratt is just Pratt... lol

Kerry needs to find someone... anyone at this point. Everytime she finally gets happy she has another bad run. They need to get her with somone and let them stay together... they can end Kerry's contract by allowing her to be happy with the woman of her dreams and they can take Henry and move to another town or something.

Chen.... ~rolling my eyes~ is she finally gone yet? Someone please tell me yes...

I reaaaaaaally am starting to despise Shane West... his character to me seems like Malucci and Pratt mixed together.. toss in a little bit of Frank.. and Morris... and we have an obnoxious little twit running about through the ER. :irritated:

I thought Melissa Gilbert was on the show? Or was she just guest starring?

Anyone else see how old Jerry is starting to look?! :omg:

Hopefully they will develop the new characters a bit more.. Because quite frankly they are all annoying..

This is but one viewers humble opinion and no intentions were made to hurt any ones feelings or to tic them off. :w00t:
Jerry: Can you do any employee physical?
Susan: On?
Jerry: Randi.
Randi: Hi.
Susan: Hi. Breathe in. Breath out. She's fine, where's the form?

I dunno, I think it could be better. It's lost the ER "zing", where everything isn't as snappy. I mean, there are some patients that are the main focus, but there used to be a huge car pile-up or a cancer patient that so-and-so nurse fell in love with, and even after they passed away, they still felt bad. In season 11 they just kind of brush it off like no big deal. It seems to focus more on the personal aspects of the characters versus their positions as ER staff, which kind of ruins the whole point.

Was writing in my diary (yes, at 40ish I do that) and it occurred to me that this season ER has lost something that was found in other seasons:

Where's our medical student?

Sure, we have the curly hair girl, but she's not front line, not front credits, and for the most part, invisible. Perhaps she's meant to be but the basic point is that without a front running medical student, a lot of us may lose our link. Why?

Because the med student gives us a path from our world to their world. Here is or rather was someone who was entering into their world but was still somewhat in our world.

Granted, it varied. We started with Carter and we should be so fortunate to have him in our world so we can be in his. Then we had an assortment of small ones but at least they weren't invisible, has some vibrancy to them. Then......there was LUCY!......and Abby......and Gallant ......and then Neela...........

But now, they are all either doctors or they are gone. There is no one there in the light that the common person in the audience can attach to.

Worse, our doctors have lost any human weakness they might have, that we might find at our level, and have all become rather arrogant gods....although some started out that way. Carter is super sure of himself, Pratt is, Kovac is, Barnett is, etc.. Which was better, hesitant Susan or bitc* Susan? Fortunally, Abby and especially Neela still have their doubts and in a room where one is trying to find someone to identify with, they are there.......but for how much longer?

As someone who works full time and goes to school full time (or say another that works 60-70+hours), I would watch for Lucy, for Neela, for especially Abby because of the way that they could drive themselves on the endurance run. Sure, it is an illusion, but it gave me something to lock on to, to identify with in the show, some for me to feed my fantasies on.

But that's not there now. What I see mostly with some exceptions is a bunch of selfish doctors that are living something in a dream world because they work their shifts and leave to have unlinkable off duty fun lives. It's becoming very 90210 or Friends, where there is lots of time to play and work hardly makes an intrusion on leasure..........and coming from the "Better Wired than Tired" world, that type of show tends to get very boring.

Romano, yes, shouldn't have gone. That was a dumb storyline.

You mean, dropping the helo on him?

We-ll.......one of the jobs I did in the Navy was being in charge of the flight deck crew for helos which included, of course, fire fighting teams. Now the general assumption was that if a helo ever crashed on deck, the Captain would probably order up turns on one screw, a hard rudder, and slide the bird off the ship so his ship wasn't threatened by the fire. Quick, easy, refreshing answer to those of us on the flight deck crew, yes?

Except one thing. Given my post, odds were that if the helo did crash on deck, I'd be buried right under it.

Season 11 is really interesting because of different situations that are going on on ER with the cast such as Luka helping a mom who was pinned between her car another vehicle and he was a good samatarian by helping a little girl who was hit by a car and he stayed with her until help could arrive. Abby and Luka are not together anymore but they are so cute as a couple because they have so much in common. Elizabeth left because she needed to move on after Mark's death and Dr. Chen left ER because she was trying to care for her sick father. Carter went through some serious hell because he lost his only son and his girlfriend Kem left him to go back to Africa.

Not to be a jerk or anything, but have you actually watched season 11?Your examples of this "so called" interesting season are a little mixed-up.

The woman that was stuck between the cars was the finale of season 10, and Luka staying with the little girl from the hit and run was season 6. Abby and Luka broke up ages ago and he's dating Sam now, so I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. Sam and Luka are good for each other and Abby has long since moved on from Luka. Elizabeth left because the hospital isn't the same as it was when she first arrived. Her family is in England, her friends are scattered all over the place, and the job isn't what it used to be or what she wanted anymore. Yes, Mark is still gone, but she started to move on from him when she slept with Dorsett in early season 10. Chen left to just refoucs her lfe after her dad's death. She obiously didn't leave to care for him because she euthanized him in this season's Christmas eppy. But you were right about Carter and his struggles, but I think having Wendall around now is a help to him.

In my opinion, season 11 is just okay. To me, we haven't seen a really great season since season 6, that was perfect, every storyline, every actor, everything. Season 11's episodes are pretty good, but don't really compare to what ER used to be.

Compared to earlier seasons (been watching season 2 on dvd...) I'd say season 11 sucks. It used to be an ensamble type thing, but lately each episode seems to focus almost exclusivly on one character. I liked it better when there were several plot arks at once, that way, no matter which characters you favored, at least one of them was (almost always)in the spotlight.

I'd say if the writers don't shape up, the show won't last much longer. (though 11 seasons is pretty amazing)

When fanfiction is more interesting than the latest episodes, there is a problem.
