Winter 2005

- A 16-year-old driver, who had a liver transplant a year ago, backed into a utility pole when her father was teaching her how to parallel park. Carter and Ray take care of them. When his daughter’s future doesn’t look too bright, the father takes extreme measures. Abby take care of a couple that were rear-ended by a truck while they were having sex in a car. The couple are “stuck” to one another. The man used way too much Viagra and the woman wants her husband not to know she’s having an affair. Lewis keeps making changes to how the ER works from whom interns report to to abbreviations. Neela must present her cases to Kovac, who seems to not want to work with her because she seems to have a crush on him. He wants to trade interns with Carter. It seems that most cases in this episode will involve sexual problems. Carter must deal with reporters asking questions about the case of the 16-year-old driver. Reporters know a bit too much since Carter did researches on the Internet and posted inquiries on some medical boards. Jake, Abby’s med student, asks her out on a date. Haleh, Dubenko, and Sam also appear. Source: SpoilerFix.com

*The daughter had a kidney transplant. Her father donated his kidney. A few months ago he put his daughter on a new drug so his daughter would no longer have seizures. He worked two jobs because the drug was not covered. It turns out the drug damaged her kidney. The distraught father kills himself right after telling Carter to donate his remaining kidney to his daughter. The man's relationship with his wife was ruined according to her when he concentrated solely on his daughter's health. She thinks he should accept the fact that she will never totally be healthy. The side notes say that Ellen has had enough-- he's single minded, won't listen to reason. Wordless she heads back in. Carter looks to Davis. The Dr that ordered the drug was George Henry who we saw in season four as Carter's med student. Carter gets upset about this case and goes online in trying to find out more about the drug. Dubenko warns Carter not to tick off certain people. The press is well aware of Carter's comments on the internet.

*There is no Carter and Abby interaction in this eppy, but every single important Abby/Jake interaction is either preceded by or cut to a Carter scene.
Jake near the end of the eppy asks Abby out. At first she refuses, but Jake mentions that there could be a bit there between them. Abby admits there might be a thing. We don't have the rest of the scene.

Carter and Susan as well as Kerry have to go see Anspaugh concerning the case Carter treated. Carter apologizes to Susan if she gets in trouble. Right before this scene Carter/Henry say their goodbyes and shakes hand after Carter was upset with Henry earlier and calls him on it. Henry apologized. Henry tells this to Carter:

Henry: I don't know why I was surprised to find you here. Of course you're still here. You belong here.
Carter: I hope we will see each other under better circumstances.

*No Wendall in what we have. Jake belongs to a family of firefighters/paramedics.

*The eppy ends with Carter treating an elderly man in his 60's who hurt himself skiing. He had not been able to do much for years due to severe arthritis. He was put on a new drug. A drug I don't think Carter was familiar with.

Klossey: "A little red pill, once in the morning. Something, huh? What scientist come up with nowadays."
Carter: "Yeah. Careful, this may hurt."
Klossey: "Damn miracle of medicine--that's what it is."
As Carter nods along and works on the sutures.

*Script revision concerning the guy who masturbated a lot since his girlfriend left him. Instead of telling Abby/Jake the he goes at it ten times a day, he says this:

Guidry: I just thought of something. Could this be from too much...you know?
Abby: Too much what?
Guidry: Since Lily left, I've been lonely you know? Really, really lonely.
Abby's frozen by that--Jake just nods.

*Neela declares herself a slut for authority (she develops a crush on Luka). Abby reveals her less than pure intentions for her med student.

*A guy shoots himself in the ambulance bay and the press is there... Weaver kicks them out.

*Susan will be there and she and Weaver kinda push Carter into talking with the press.

*Neela has a scene with Sam. She apologizes for checking Luka out:

Neela: "I guess I just got confused."
Sam: "Every time I look at him I get confused. Forget about it."

*Luka is a bit uncomfortable working with Neela now... asks her to see if Carter needs her.

*The guy that shoots himself has a daughter being treated in the ER. Her kidneys have shut down and she needs a transplant but she has a rare tissue type and is dying. The dad is a match, that's why he shoots himself, because he already gave a kidney to his daughter that is failing.

*Anyway, it says that he's a donor on his driver's license but there is no immediate family to authorize it so the hospital is being a butt even though Carter keeps pushing to save the girl.

*On his press conference Carter says (even though he is not supposed to give details) that the girl is in renal failure because of a popular new drug, her kidney are shredded. Cut to Abby.

*Old lady and her boyfriend:

OL: "My virginia hurts."
BF: "You know... her foo foo..."
Abby: "Thanks, I got it."
