- RAPE VICTIM TRIES RISKY PROCEDURE TO HELP POLICE -- Sam and Kovac treat a woman who was brutally beaten and raped and wants to help police although she can barely speak. Lewis schedules a JCAHO emergency drill without telling the staff. Carter and Abby treat a girl complaining of kidney problems, which is just the beginning of her adventure. Laura Innes, Mekhi Phifer, Parminder Nagra and Shane West also star. Source: NBC

- Ranger Scouts invade the ER as they are the fake patients of a drill. They are wheeled in by Paramedics and pretend they are older and are injured (ex: a 14-year-old girl plays a 28 year-old male with penetrating injuries to bilateral lower extremities with arterial laceration!). Some of the doctors are a bit on edge because they are delayed in helping those who really need help. Weaver is pissed because Lewis knew the drill was today and she didn’t tell the staff. One of the scouts wants to help take care of the injured and is way too pushy. Chen is at the hospital with her father. She seems healthy and ready to come back to work. Source: SpoilerFix.com

- Kem emailed pictures to Carter. She looks happy says Jerry when he sees the pictures. Morris drools when watching Kem's pictures. Carter and Ray take care of a woman named Louise Garvin who has multiple facial injuries as well as deformed arms. She was found in an alley and has no papers. She has a hard time talking so the cops are eager for the doctors to do something for her so they can get info about what happened to her. Sam and Kovac move to another step in their relationship. Abby and Haleh take care of a woman who thinks the pain that comes and goes is due to kidney stones... but let's say she's in for a surprise. Weaver tells Lewis that nice girls never make history and that Lewis should me more aggressive. Ray, Frank, Neela, Pratt, and Wendall also appear.

I kind of think that Lewis should have informed the staff of a drill.
I mean it's not like they haven't managed to avert disasters in the past without drills.
Think of the patients that really needed help in the mean time.

And I don't know why Kem is sending Carter pictures. That just seems a little off to me...I mean she refused his proposal and he was obviously hurt when she left. And now she's sending pictures saying look at me, remember me, well I'm doing good. Leave the man alone already!

*Kem has emailed photos to Carter. Jerry looks at them and tells Carter that she looks happy. Jerry stops after realizing the implications of his statements. Carter covers with a nod and half smile. Ray sees the photos and comments on her looks. Asks if it is "anyone I should get to know." Frank looks at Carter and tells him Paramedics are coming in. Cater tells Barnett we've got it. Morris passes by and sees Kem's photo. Mentions something about her being Carter's whatever. He comments on her looks. Jerry clicks the screen off. Morris waits for him to disappear. he turns the screen back on and Frank looks at him with disgust.

*Abby treats Mi-Cha who has no clue that she is pregnant. Abby discovers that she is 10 cm dilated. We don't see the delivery, but I assume Abby is involved. We also know that Wendall along with Abby will talk to her.

*Carter/Abby/Wendall will talk to Mrs. Pak. Abby's pregnant patient's last name is Pak, so Carter must get involved in the case of the pregnant woman in labor that has family problems. My guess is that Mrs. Pak is the Mother. Carter/Ray/Sam initially treat the raped elderly woman, but Carter gets called away so Luka takes over.

*Susan, as acting chief of the ER, is in charge of the ER that day and the chaos that that likely ensues with the injured Ranger scouts.

*We have the beginning of the Carter/Wendall scene by the river. Carter is starting to apologize to Wendall for something. He is at the river by himself and she joins him.

*Apparently the Carter/Wendall conversation is not a long one since a few pages and scenes later we have Abby approach Carter at the desk to tell him Mi-Cha's brother has arrived and that Wendall is with him. Carter tells her good. Carter tells her that you two can handle it when asked if he wants to come in.

*Her brother is 23 and mentally challenged. He talks like a ten year old. They live together. He works while she is at school. He tells them that she never goes anywhere once she is home from school. He claims he did not tell anyone about the baby. Mi-cha is distant throughout this.

*Carter tells Jerry that he was going to print out the photos.

*It does not appear that Carter is sitting in the bench because the script says Carter is looking down at the water.

*Carter and Abby have major interaction in this episode in the treatment of Mi Cha. We will hear Abby call Carter, John at one point. We will see Abby get a bit annoyed with Carter at one point, but not say anything

*Carter and Abby deliver the baby. Carter offers to let Abby deliver, but she passes on it since they are in the elevator lobby.

*Carter's treatment of Mi-Cha is greatly influenced by the death of his son. Mi-Cha/brother live with their parents. She is 17. Carter talks to Mrs. Pak first and think she is fine.

*After the baby is born, Mi-Cha refuses to acknowledge the baby at first. Carter tells Abby/Wendall that with her current frame of mind, she can't decide what she will want to do with the baby. Abby says we can't break patient confidentiality with the Mother. I think Wendall goes along with this Carter insists that the baby has a family. He thinks the baby has a Mother and a grandmother. Right before Carter goes tell the mother, Abby calls Carter, John. Wendall reacts to to Carter doing this. They are with him when Carter tells the mother. The Mother gets mad and wants her out of the house because she is not married. The mother then leaves.

*Carter tries to make the Mi-Cha hold the baby several times. Convinced that if she holds her son that she will love her son.

*A few pages before Carter goes to the river we see Carter angrily trying to get at Morris who has printed out the photos of Kem

i love abby -

*Frank says “Real commitment comes with a ring"... He is talking about Luka and Sam who have just moved in together.

stormwatcher at teex -

*About mid-point in the opening tease, Kem has emailed some recent photos of herself. Jerry stumbles over himself after he notes Kem looks happy and Carter covers his own reaction. Ray however suggests he’d like to get to know Kem. And Morris continues looking at the photos as Ray wanted to. Carter takes Ray to attend to the incoming patient, Louise, a woman in her 50’s whom they ultimately learn has been raped. Luka takes over the case from Carter and Ray tries to be super-doc. Luka puts him in his place.

*Abby is treating Mi-Cha Pak who thinks she has a kidney stone and turns out to be very pregnant and on the verge of delivery. During this, Morris continues his bumbling ways. Eventually, Wendall comes in to deal with the situation. The girl must deliver the baby, as Abby tells Carter that the girl is finally talking and Abby notes the girl’s family sounds kinda crazy.

*During the episode, Carter is upset about something and he later apologizes to Wendall for his behavior.

*Sam seems to have told the other nurses, Jerry and Frank that she has moved in with Luka. Chuny and Lilly are approving; Sam notes that it just makes more sense and Malik notes his girlfriend said the same thing moving in 6 years ago. Frank says that living together is for wimps and a real commitment takes a ring, to which Malik notes is what his girlfriend wants now.

*Sam handles the police inquiry into Louise's rape who cannot tell very much because she has a crike, and can only nod her answers. It turns out she open the door to a stranger posing as a pizza delivery man and may be able to describe him. Among her injuries, Louise’s lungs are bruised and she becomes critical, unable to give the police more information. The police push it and Luka doesn’t think that will be possible. The police officer works on Sam’s sympathies, emphasizing the rapist’s methodology, the previous 4 rapes, and Louise’s widowed status.

*Sam does figure out a way to have Louise whisper some answers to the police but it requires depriving Louise’s lungs of oxygen while she whispers. Louise wants to do this but Luka will have to give his permission. Next we see Sam as she helps Louise answer the questions and Luka, as he is about to enter the room, is called away for another patient. Louise is able to give a partial description but her condition worsens and Sam calls for Luka. He comes in a realizes what is going on and that he did not know about it.

*Meanwhile, Ray, Morris and Neela discover the mock disaster drill using Ranger Scouts starting up in the ER. Eventually Pratt also is involved in handling all the “injuries.” Kerry must come to help Susan as the event unfolds and we learn that Susan knew the drill was coming but the situation is chaotic. As Susan tries to handle the mess of real patients and fake patients, a young ranger scout, Trina, tries to offer his assistance, to the point of becoming a significant bother. Kerry tells Susan to be tough on the staff to get through this drill. Finally, overwhelmed by the madness of treating so many “patients” and Trina’s incessant offers to help, Susan calls off the drill and orders the scouts out and everyone else back to work.

*And then Pratt sees Chen getting off the elevator with her father.
