Okay, so Carby is over.. As in not gonna happen.. Ever! And if she's leaving, I don't see her running into Carter's open arms, as the last thing we'll see, especially since they haven't had any contact besides the African-baby gift-exchange-thingy somewhere in s. 12.. I mean, seriously, she's getting married, she has a son.. And, well, quite frankly, it'd be a real low blow for the character. |

I always wanted Maura to have a really emotional exit, for example to die in childbirth or something. This obviously cant happen now. The way I thought of it happening while she was with Goran was she would be pregnant, and they would have a car accident, Goran would die instantly, but Abby would be well enough to try to save him, but then when she is taken to county general she would have an aneurism or something. Could have been a really emotional episode or two, perhaps filmed in real time. If they had done this right it would be excellent. I am hoping that they will dump abby and kovac within the first 5 episodes of S14, and entice Carter back as Chief for two seasons. Then they should definately bring back the old credits! This would leave time for the other characters to start wrapping their storylines up by the end of S16, which would be the perfect way to end ER, for example Neela becoming an attending, Morris 'setting the tone' and taking over as chief in the last episode, Pratt reuniting with his father and Leon, perhaps getting married, and Gates sorting things out with his daughter and becoming an attending. |

Doncha mean Luka not Goran??? I'm not keen on unhappy endings. Sure, it's compelling to watch actors do very dramatic stuff, but I like it to be not all doom and gloom.
Do you mean dump the relationship or the characters? I'm not sure NW would want to come back full time, and anyway, ER is only contracted until the end of S14, and right now S15 looks like a long shot, IMHO.
As far as I'm aware, there are already storylines in place on the basis that the show will end in S14. MT mentioned something about this. I'd like to see those storylines play out, rather than get dragged on. Pratt already has a family story in Chaz and has already met his father... as per the last episode Sarah is not actually Gates' daughter, as far as I know. As for everyone become attendings, etc - well, I don't think Neela could do that until season 17 or something as surgical residency is five years. It has to end sometime, and whatever time they end it there will be people still residents. |

I would put some shipper message here, but I'm just not *that* kind of fan... Logic is a systematic method of coming to the wrong conclusion with confidence. Animadvertistine, ubicumque stes, fumum recta in faciem ferri?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo what are they doing???? Having both characters leave would be a huge mistake and turn the show into a disaster!! The show is not the same without them. We need people who are very level-headed and brings out the most to the show and both Goran and Maura do it too well. Linda is the one who brings out too much drama with Alex and her family/love life problems, Morris is a big goof-off and although better than he used to be, I may admit, he's still a big joke in the ER. What were the writers thinking making him Chief Resident? Pratt has too many problems and issues with his attitudes and is often arrogant. He's also a womanizer, always flirting with every lady he sees. Neela's not bad but she's a surgeon, not a real ER doctor and if we see a lot of Neela, we'll see a lot of the OR than the ER. Ray's barely on the show. He never gets storylines so why even keep him if Neela wants to keep "waiting" for something to happen between her and him which will probably never happen. I can't believe ER wants to kill off too many important characters who have been around for a long time, who brought out the best of the ER and brought in a little less drama and more comedy. I know it's a drama show but hey, let's not "overdramatize" it ok? Other dramas are pretty ridiculous like with Pratt being a womanizer, Gates having problems with paternity, a little girl who has no mother and a drunk father and he's a doc who ignores chief residents' and attendings' orders. He no longer seems to be pursuing Neela but focusing on Sarah. If Maura and Goran leave, I can imagine the entire season 14 as this: Gates and Morris carrying on with their arguments all the time about who's right, who's not, Gates not following orders, Morris threatening him too many times to write him up, Pratt possibly being in management since he's been around for a while and he lets his sexual fantasies get in his way of the job and all the drama in his life with his brother being gay, Neela messing around between Crenshaw and Dubenko and Dubenko flirting with Neela, Ray going after one woman and another and trying to satisfy himself, finding a gig and Sam will either continue to be alone at home or have a real shaky relationship with Alex. It'll be a disaster! As for Noah returning, I never heard that. I thought Noah said when he was leaving he was leaving for GOOD. Besides, he's married and with a woman who lives overseas so it wouldn't make sense for him to come back with Kem in America since Kem seemed to want to be overseas a lot. Having Carter back wouldn't work out. Doug and Carol? Give me a break! Heard it millions of times they were coming back but never occured. Besides, they've been gone too long so I don't think they're gonna return. The only miracle we could see is Mark Green coming back alive. Yeah right like that's gonna happen! There were characters that were so good to the show and we looked forward to seeing them do more things but the actors complain that they wanna do something else like movies. You can make a TV show and a movie at the same time so why not? For example, Susan Lewis. I was hoping she'd say around long enough for us to see her and Chuck get married (in a real wedding not in Las Vegas) and Cosmo walking... Kerry pursuing a relationship and being happy. While I'm on that, seems the writers are always killing off a lesbian relationship as if it offends them. They kill off Kim Legaspi, let Sandy die in a fire and now tell Kerry to go to Miami. Why not let the characters be happy AND be on the show longer as long as they are bringing out the best in the show? If they're doing so good, then why leave? |

hang on i am stil confused. Will they be leaving together?/.....MT is contracted till the end of the season and Goran will be doing a few eps. But ER is only contracted till the end of s14 anyway? I think MT has been making it pretty clear she would be leaving at the end of next yr. And if ER do s15 without MT i'm pretty sure I won't be interested in the show |

I think that it would be a kick in the teeth to fans all over and just viewers in general if they were killed off or seperated. ER can do sad and give rubbish endings (cough Kerry,Carter and SUSAN cough), but it would be terrible and just plain cruel if they did it with these two characters. I still think it'll go as mentioned above. Hopefully when they go it'll be a happy exit where the two are still happily together with baby Luby. Then hopefully for any chance of an even longer and fufilling future-the show should just bring back lots of the older cast. Just do it, go for the people who were either there from the start or who came in after the first 2 seasons. The shows needs that badly. |

As long as Luby leave together and get their happy ending, all will be fine with me. I want one of my fave relationships to work out, unlike my Reela *weep* |

I agree - at least let ONE couple be happy together - I really can't believe that all we're gonna get with Neela and Ray (well looks like it anyway) is one lousy kiss!! Sorry just had to vent my frustration there... |

I don't think abby should get back with carter if luka leaves, they are meant to be together abby and carter were awful together, luka is a much better character then carter and far hotter. The show is still great and i recon this season has been one of the best. I love the cast at the moment there was a stage where it felt like there was no one leading the cast but now maura and goran are keepin the show so popular when they go it wont be worth watching... but you never know after doug left then carol i thought the same. ER may just get a new leace of life. |

ok, so I've been completley out of the loop for quite some time now so can I just ask - has ER been extended to run past season 14? Because, otherwise it seems pretty obvious that Maura would leave at the end of next season (14) granted it is the end. and as for Noah, as far as I am aware he was contracted to do 8 episodes, of which he has only done four, so I believe we will see him next season. Also, Zabel stated in an interview towards to end of last year that there would be "no more African field trips" -so unless we will see Carter in France with Kem, or off elsewhere saving the world, my guesses would be on him coming back to Chicago (maybe for the Joshua Carter Centre?) 12. and if ER is scheduled to run past this 14th Season I think it will seriously struggle with Maura and Goran gone! |

very good point |
![]() You know, there are two kinds of doctors: the kind that get rid of their feelings, and the kind that hold on to them. If you're going to hold on to your feelings, you're going to get sick every once in a while. That's part of it. Helping people is more important than how we feel. Hell, I've been doing this eight years, and I still get sick.
