What do you think is the best reason for ER's supposed 'revival'?

a)Abby and Luka
b)Gates(John Stamos)
c)21 guns cliffhanger
d)other

I'd go for d) other as well.

I don't think much of Luka and Abby, I think they are a good pairing, but I don't particularly like and never have liked Abby, I just find her irritating.

Gates is also irritating, but not as bad as he was. The majority of members of this forum aren't exactly digging Gates, so I can't see him being a reason forb ER's 'supposed revival'.

There have been better cliffhangers than 21 Guns; again, this was very much Luka and Abby oriented.

ER just seems to plod on now. I'm not sure of the ratings in the US and Canada, but I'm guessing it is still doing pretty well. However, I don't think this season can compare at all to the earlier classics. ER just isn't ER anymore without any of the original characters.

y'know, i agree about the original cast members no being there anymore, but it's like a soap opera---people leave or characters die. i mean after 13 years on the air i think they're doin pretty damn good! i miss the past cast members too, though, but you've gotta expect that with a long-running drama. sorry if i offended anyone!

You're opinions won't offend anyone :)

I agree that it has done very well for a long-running drama, however, ER will probably finish in a couple of years time. I can't see it lasting for much longer.

I have a question for people living in the States.... When you talk about the Mercy Hospital, you are only talking about the Mercy Hospital in Chicago, or there are many Hospitals named "Mercy" around the United States?? the same with the Memorial Hospital, the Hope Center ....., cuz i 've heard in tv Series and movies that you named the Mercy hospital a lot.. is this true? please i'll be waiting for an answer

It's really just a generic name most TV series and movies use to mention other hospitals. I'm sure there are a few such named hospitals in real life.

e) None of the above. It sucks now.
I'm beginning to think "E.R." stands for "Everyone's Retarded".

Next time, only ask your questions ONCE, not in every topic you go to. If you're wondering where those posts went, I deleted them. Do it again and you'll be warned and well on your way to getting banned.

I don't think ER has gone through a "revivial" or however you want to phrase it. IMVHO I think that the quality of the storylines just isn't there anymore, particularly with the Ames storyline, which I think has been dragged out a bit too much!

Like Gemma had previously said, this season can not compare to seasons past - which is one of the truest things I have read in a while!

and I don't know about everyone else, but I know that when it comes to 9pm on a thursday (or whenever ER airs for you) I feel I'm watching out of obligation ;)

Like someone said, the names are generic.
There are probably 100 variants on 'Sinai' hospital in America. Cedar Sinai, Mt. Sinai, etc. Same for Mercy and anything named after a saint (Joseph is without a doubt the most popular). There are also a lot of <insert name/place/whatever here> Memorial hospitals.
County is probably the most generic name ever. California is a really bleeping big state with scores of counties and all but two counties have a 'County.' LA County Hospital, Kern County Hospital, etc. Orange County doesn't have one b/c it was bought by the medical school at UCI. I forgot which the other county without a county hospital is...

I know what you mean. When Thursday comes around it's like "OK ER's gonna be on tonight", then I don't really give it another thought til next Thursday.
