I would put some shipper message here, but I'm just not *that* kind of fan...

I thought that must be the case. Heh. Perhaps the number's some kind of inside joke.

He was arrested for not handing over evidence (it was a patients vomit or some other bodily fluid) because the cop didn't have a warrant for said fluid. The woman he was protecting was having a fight with her boyfriend (or maybe husband, not sure).

The evidence the cop wanted would have incriminated her for doing something to this guy. Assault, if I remember correctly. Carter stood up for her rights and was carted off to jail. That's where the photo is from. Took place in the first few seasons.

Anyway, the extreme irony is that the woman went right back to the guy- who then dropped the charges- and Carter went to jail for nothing. Poor Carter, he's so... humorous in his humanitarian efforts. And a bit misguided.

At least Pratt looks disapointed for being in prison Carter looks like he's enjoying it. I wonder if the number could have something to do with the fact that their both doctors and that they were both in prison for doing medical things.

No, the numbers wouldn't be the same in real life.

Anyway, Carter looks happy (and really stupid at the same time) because he's not NEARLY as screwed over as Pratt is for what he did.
I'm beginning to think "E.R." stands for "Everyone's Retarded".

Someone said something about the number being an inside joke; that makes sense. Or maybe something like the precinct number and district, etc.
