Ok, this has been bothering me for a while now. I'm trying to picture in my mind the layout of the ER set. How you come in the doors, the front desk is straight on, I think the trauma rooms are in the back left corner.... elevators are a U turn on the left on the other side of the doctors lounge? well, you get the picture, you can get a little lost in the ER. Anyone want to help me, maybe by drawing a map of the ER???? I know it has been through several changes throughout the seasons but the layout is generally the same. I just need to visualize it somehow! |

Why? |
| I'm beginning to think "E.R." stands for "Everyone's Retarded". | |

At least we can agree on that. Okay, but listen. It is a TV show. It's filmed on a set, it's not an actual hospital. |

I'll give the question to the subsystems. Ask me in two months if they've come up with anything. Somewhat seriously, that's the kind of question that I can approach when I'm trying to fall asleep and it might even lend itself to some dream programming. But school has started up again so it's not the kind of thing I can go after in a dedicated way such as looking at past tapes trying to find that answer. It has to be in an undedicated way, where as I watch one show or another in enjoyment, the mind's "subprocessors" are collecting that info to come up with the answer ....... and asking questions, too. For example, one comes thru the security doors, the counter is infront of them, they turn right. Now, supposedly, maybe, at the end of that hallway is the gurney room where Doctor's try to catch 40 winks (Abby bursts out of there with "I give up!"). Okay, we know from outdoor pics that there is a massive hospital establishment beyound in that direction, walls of glass that when elevated, one looks out on the ambulance bay, can take the emergency exit to address the ambulance bay. So beyond the 40 winks room, there should be more hospital, right? Ie, what's there? Questions like that. But everything is limited since this is a fictional show and not reality. They go to a lot of detail to fill in gaps, but not completely, entirely, and as such, from one point of view, it can be like a computer game. When you get to an edge where there is no more game to go in that direction, a forcefield stops you. Like I said, I'll add it to the subsystems list of endless problems to solve. Ask me in a month or two. It sounds like a fun exercise ........ more fun than a barrel of sheep. Got to go, really ought to be reading on endocrine systems. NEW ENTRY!!!!!!: Okay, got a possible answer for you. Various pictues in the gallery such as WakeUp0001PD.JPG--S12 strange_bedfellows6.jpg--S12 show an emergency evac plan on the wall next to the elevators. It doesn't seem to be consistent in it's placement, it may not be accurate, it may be hard to see depending on your enlargement software, but it gives you something to look at for your answer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ("Doctor, this dungeon runs the length of the research lab,right?"--Romana "Yes, so?"--The Doctor "Well, it seems that this dungeon is shorter than the lab." (hence, that far wall must be a false wall)., (w,stte), Dr. Who "City of Death") |
