So we have no one left but Abby...and an absent Weaver?? The newbies(not all but...) are ruining the storylines. I hope that they don't leave Abby alone with the baby and that Luka goes to Africa for a while and works somewhere else in Chicago and still in unseen scenes stays with Abby.Though I doubt that would happen. Sad news he's leaving.Hopefully though he'll take over from the already poor Bond. |

It's not really the fault of the newbies if the actors want to leave. I don't want to see Abby alone with the baby, or more to the point Luka separated from his baby. They could kill him but IMHO they've had too many grieving partners on that show. So no idea what they will do. The video was on Kristen @ E!Online somewhere, but a while ago, so no idea if it would still be there. There's also an article floating around at the moment from an Aussie magazine where GV says again he's been on the show a long time, break from filming's only 2.5 months so no time for other projects, etc. Not sure how long ago they did the interview. Also he's never said outright says he's leaving, just dropped quite a few hints. |

Ok while most of you have a point. I have heard time and time again when i first started watching it, that was in season 6 with Abby, that many people either stopped watching the show with the original cast. Most didn't stay to see Carter leave and if they did they left then. ER rating are up again thanks to Gates, even though i hate him, but the thing is ER is attracting a new generation from 18 and up. I know when ER first came out that I was 8 years old and my mom watched it but I didn't understand the show when I watched it. I didn't really start understaning it till I was like in 8th grade but I still watched. People are still watching or comming back for the first time in years because its going back to the old school ways. just look at last episode for that. Every time a new charactor comes in it takes time to adjust just was it does when one leaves. If Goran leaves then so be it. The ER would won't stop just because of it. Yeah everyone will be sad and some people will stop watching the show but new people will aways come. People are comming to watch becasue of John Stamos. He is attracting the younger generation because they know him as Uncle Jesse. If anyone can carry this show after Goran leave it could be Abby or personaly I could see Laura Inns carrying it or even Ray who knows what is going to Happen. I know I won't stop watching till it ends completly but everyone will do what they want. |

I dont buy the "saved By Stamos" stuff. Ratings were good for the S12 finale and they held up as people returned to find out what happened. Theres no way Stamos is totally responsible for folk watching the show a lot of it has to do with better ensemble writing and better relationship writing. Cant speak for anyone else but Stamos aint doin' it for me, not yet anyhow. There are plenty of estblsihed characters I care about more. |

I know Stamos is not the only reason that the ratings are up. 21 guns and bloodline have alot to do with that. I was just saying that that is one of the factors. I just feel that if you don't like the way ER is going just stop watching and stop trashing cause i know i don't want to hear it. |

Stamos a reason for the ratings going up?!?!
No way! If it weren't for me liking Abby and Luka (not together but that's another story) I wouldn't even be watching ER! Somebody to Love absolutely sucked! It was boring, and to me it had everything to do with Gates being in it. about that video: I can't find it anywhere on e-online, unfortunatly because I would've loved to see it |
|
New Carby signature yet to come! A reason for Carby: Because Carter provides the "lo." And Abby the "ve." Because he is the sky to her clouds. Can't I be obsessed with both? | |

I don't know about any one else but I have been reading articales on line about why he ratings are going up and he is one of the reasons. i hate him personaly so do mistake me for defending him but he has to be part of the reason. |

They're not 'up' per se, they're just better than the critics had expected, seeing as show was being shot down left, right and centre last year. ER is also often winning its timeslot or certain demographics in its time slot - this is partly because it's not on opposite Without A Trace anymore, but there are probably loads of reasons. You can't really tell if and how JS is having an impact, though like you say he could be one of the factors (something which the articles I've seen haven't really reflected - he's A factor, not the single factor). |

OK if you actually read my post you would see that I said he was ONE of the reason. I idn't say he was the only. If you are this set against What I'm saying then please don't say anything at all because you are comming off as rude and ignorant. I was just giving my opinion and just because its not the one that you want to hear you hate it. Like I said before save yourself the agervation if you don't the way ER is going just go and stop watching it. |

I'm not blaming newbie characters for current and older actors wanting to leave, but now that you mention it if I was along time character on a hit show and being push aside for others I'd be peeved at best. The storylines of some of the recently added characters have not been near as dramatic or well written as that or earlier ER seasons/episodes.THings may be going ok for ratings, but not everyone is satisfied that ER is giving it all it's got and making good on what it's always has going good. I do not believe for a minute( but this is only my opinion) that Stamos would the reason for ratings in ANY show going up, he's is not the greatest actor to ever grace our screens. If he is the reason people like Luka, Weaver and some others are going to feature less on screen then he's doing more harm than good. |

I'm quite sad that Goran is going to leave, plus Laura Innes too. It is going to be only the new characters. I think that, after 12 years, I'm going to quite. And I thought that the Carter's leaving was the right end of ER. |

I don't post often, but when I do it's usually a Luka issue. Now its a Goran issue. Or as I see it, possibly an Ivana issue. If you think about it, she's been dragged to the US every year for 9 months out of the year for what now, 9 years? Whatever, a long time. Away from family, friends, neighbors, her familiar food, customs and language; away from her homeland. Yeah, Goran goes through all that too, but it's been his choice to come. It's HIS job bringing him here. It changes how you feel about it. Yeah, she can travel back and forth whenever she wants, $$ doesn't seem to be an issue, but would you? Leave your drop-dead hottie husband alone in LA? Would you want to? Also, I read an interview a while back saying that if they ever started a family, they would want to be in Croatia. Hes been at this a long time and well, maybe they're thinking..... As a parting note, about 2 years ago (but not anymore) I was a Nielsen family. I watch/ed ER religiously. You're all very welcome for the good ratings and continued seasons. |
