You know, there are two kinds of doctors: the kind that get rid of their feelings, and the kind that hold on to them. If you're going to hold on to your feelings, you're going to get sick every once in a while. That's part of it. Helping people is more important than how we feel. Hell, I've been doing this eight years, and I still get sick.

I wish they would bring him back. Though hated by some ER viewers, I liked Peter Benton. He was a different character, it was always difficult to get through to him and see what he's actually THINKING.
The friendship hat he and Carter developed over the years was always interesting to watch. Peter was a good guy.
And I DO miss the punch in the opening credits!! :sniff:

Absolutely 'The Benton' still inspires me to do tai-chi! ;)

I think it'd be great if he came back, I can see this being more likely if he came back to visit Carter, so if Carter ever ends up back in Chicago again or and I can't believe I'm saying this ... if he ever died and they held his funeral in Chicago ...        ... sorry that was just so painful to say, then I think that there's a chance we might get to see Peter Benton again.

However, I don't know how Eriq La Salle parted ways with ER and what he's up to now, so it's also posible that he might not want to come back.

he was a cool character in ER. I always like him and especially his friendship with Carter. I also love the father and son moments with Reese. I love that little boy! I can related to him because of his deafness. He was so cute!!
It would be pretty cool to have Benson come back to ER someday but who know?

Yeah, Reese was definately one of the reasons I liked Peter.
Reese was sooo cute.
Those big, brown eyes
And he always made Peter seem more likable, right?

I think it would be great to see Benton in Africa, seeing Carter so grown and mature, even if just for one episode, that would be at the top of my list of episodes that need to be done.

I think Benton would be proud of Carter, right?
And now Carter would actually be "allowed" to say that he's a good doctor, if you know what I mean :P

I know what you mean! :P
That exchange is one of Carter's and Benton's best, it still tugs at my heartstrings and makes me laugh! :D

Yeah I miss the friendships that we had back in the beginning like Carter/Benton, Carter/Mark, Mark/Doug, Carol/Susan where did that go? There is hardly any of that any more it's just all about who's sleeping with who!

I feel your pain :(

One of the things that I liked about Benton over the years was how little he cared about others apart from one guy. He and Carter really did create a special bond, Benton helped carter after being stabbed, helped him through rehab and basically made him the doctor he was. I think that bond was witnessed in Benton's final episode, the great bit at the end with carter and benton reminising. Such good times!
