'ER' PRODUCERS HOPING FOR CLOONEY RETURN?
Published: June 25, 2005
By Daniel Kilkelly
ER producers are trying to convince George Clooney to return to the show, according to The Mirror today.

Although they admit that the chances of luring back the high-profile actor for one or two episodes are slim, executives believe that his presence would win back viewers.

"The only thing that producers can hope for is an 'I owe you one' factor, since the show really made George a big star," a source explained.

Clooney was last seen on the series when his character, Doug Ross, reunited with head nurse Carol Hathaway.

But what would he do? Clooney probably commands $5,000 for a one minute shot of him right now...and clearly they are not bringing him back as regular, or even in a recurring capacity.

There are other ways to resuccitate the show, such as developing the characters and making sure the plot is coherent...and it wouldn't be nearly as costly nor confusing as bringing back Clooney.

I hope he'll come back one reason to see the show. I hope they take Carol back too ;)
Luka: ...and then we'll sit near a campfire and have some smores.
Sam: Smores? Do you even know what those are?
Luka: Yeah, sure. Those white things on a stick.

That would be excellent ...if it happened. It's what ER needs, some old school characters returning.

I would be excellent to have him back but it would also be quite hard for producers to persuade him to so I'm not getting my hopes up too high.

He aid that he would come back for Noah's final episode, which he clearly did not, so he owes the producers one - lol. I think if John Wells was like listen we need you to come back, he would do it, just because ER made him what he is today and He still talks about it in interveiws and everything.

But ER doesn't need clooney's helps - ER is like one of NBC's top 5 shows and nothing will happen to it for awhile, because NBC really needs all the hwlp it can get.

nope, the producers thought that would steal anthony edwards spotlight.

I just like had a lightbulb moment........Georges offices for his production company or whatever it is are on the WB lot...literally next door to the ER sound stage, so it would be incredibly easy for him to film something short, as long as he's not busy with anything else.
