ER Reunion; someday, down the line

Before anyone bawls hysterically, there's still a good 2-3 *guaranteed* seasons of ER, and if NBC decides to renew that beyond that...they'll be even more! :P

But one day, should it come to an end, would anyone want a reunion episode? Mostly it's for sitcoms - and they're SO CHEESY! But it's not often when you have a show that's going to surpass the 300 episode-mark, been as dominant as it was (even if it is currently a shadow of its former self, it's NBC's top drama or close to that), so I mean, shouldn't it have a little commeration?

How would they cram ALL the ppl - assuming they bring Clooney, Margulies, etc. from way back, into one room?? Should they divide it into different "eras" - because Doug and Carol left way before Ray, Neela, Sam and half of the current cast came in. What format - discussion panel, reminiscing about memorable moments, never-before-told-stories?

Anyways, I would think it would be uber-cool to see a giant get-together to see the gazillion docs/nurses who have worked at County General. :)

That would be amazing. Trouble is the formating. There ae so many ways it could be done and with such a wide and varied cast it wouldn't be easy to get them all in the ame state let alone fit them into one room together.

Right, that last bit sounded a bit weird so I shall explain what I meant. I didn't mean that there were so many cast members there were too many to fit into one state, I meant that they are all in different places doing numerus diffferent things and if it ever did happen it wuld be extremely hard to organize.

Fab idea though, I'd love to see it happen when the time comes. Friends and Frasier got one recently so why couldn't ER maybe get one in the future.

I think it would be pretty cool to have such a reunion. Seeing Maria Bello and Gloria Rueben in the same room as Maura Tierney and Parminder Nagra, along with all of the 'deceased' characters back together would just be plain awesome. Alot's changed over the years. The ER men have gone from Edwards and Clooney to Shane West and mekhi Phiefer. Some definite differences there. Ofcourse they all would be drawn together by the only man to star with every ER character, Noah Wyle. TPTB better put one of these together.

I know this is redundant, but what a fantasic idea!

I think if it ended then it would probably be because the ER gets shut down, then maybe all the old cast would come back to say goodbye to it, or to try and stop it or something like that.

You'd have to start with a special 2-hour ep (or divi-it up in two hours/two weeks).

It could be the absolute last episode in which the state has decided to close County and the old characters come in for one last hurrah. Each remembering key moments of their life at County. The newer staff (Neela, Ray, Sam, etc) could listen to the stories of how the ER used to be while the older staff could perhaps attempt to "hire" the displaced County workers or give them some guidance.

I'd love to see Kerry & Doug talking about the old times & realizing how each of them have changed over the years (Kerry's a mom & Doug's been a dad for a while now).

Needless to say this is a GREAT idea!!!

...do I hear voices in the hall? ^_^

The show's done really groundbreaking stuff over the years; the "Third Watch" crossover, the live episode - as long as the producers don't make it completely cheesy, like a time-travel episode where the newbies get to see Mark or whatever, I think it will be well-done, hopefully better than the send-off Carter got (sucked, IMO). <_<

From the gist of it, some of you were referring to the big reunion as the series finale, when past members (who are alive, anyways) come back and pay tribute to the place where it all started - I was originally thinking about a huge futon get-together, a couple years removed from the show - but why can't we have our coffee and pie and eat it, too? :P

The hospital is timeless...I don't know that it would be shut down. Even when old, beloved doctors leave, the ER goes on, like Mark said in his letter. After all, there are oh-so many traumas in that Chicago region, and it seems like County gets twice as much than Mercy. :med:

That would be great!

Imagine, George and Goran in the same room again!
Not even to speak about Noah, and Shane and.... :broken:

But you're right, they better not do it in some cheesy way, has to be plausable....

As everyone has said, they need to choose an appropriate setting for it, that's not too cheesy.... perhaps they could all be guests at a wedding? It'd probably have to be Carter's.....

Carter:- err usually she's everywhere

I would really prefer it to stay at the hospital; it just wouldn't feel right without it. At the most they could do a "flash-foward" type of thing and meet at some other place - Doc Magoo's? Nah, it just better end with a glimpse of County, bustling about as usual.

Btw, I'm assuming this is a Carby wedding? The outrage if it was a Carkem wedding - oh there might be blood... :ph43r:
