Thoth had kept this mostly to himself - and, well, to Tina - but he'd been quietly impressed at the way Horus had stopped being the brat he'd been for so, so many years. He knew who to thank for that - Helen had that sort of calming effect on people and he supposed Vixen did too. Who knew? But that was their business - Thoth didn't mind what his friends got up to in their personal lives, as long as everyone involved was happy. "To my knowledge?" Thoth frowned, rubbing his chin before running a hand through his hair, messing up the neat ponytail he usually kept it in. "I... There are several minor creatures, from several myths and stories, but that's because the Fabric exists in every pantheon in some way or another," he said at length. "My fear is that the others have placed in there something terrible, something we may struggle to handle." He finally took a seat next to Horus and rested his head in his hands, exhaling in exhaustion. "I know that at least two of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse are there. They're just as entwined with our own legends as they are with those of the others. Conquest, and War." He clasped his hands together, his elbows on his legs as he thought. "I would have to pester Ma'at to get more information in this regard; she's made far more contacts than I have to those gods still existing as their old forms." He pulled his glasses off and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I know Kali will want to deal with War herself but I fear that that encounter may result in the end of at least one continent." He looked at Horus. "If you have any ideas on how to spread this news more quickly, I'm all ears. Cell phones only work so quickly." ----- Beth tilted her head, glancing from Phillipa to the horse and back, before nodding. "I understand. I'm the same way with most felines, big cats or small." She squeezed her hand in hers, sending a very mild and gentle burst of her own energy in the hopes that it would ease the woman's exhaustion. Bastet wasn't one to force gods to wake up to their own existence - at least, not unless they were dearly needed. But how had Phillipa lived this way for so long without wondering how she was so good at what she did? ----- "If you want to leave, you may. No one is stopping you." Death turned back to his books, picking up one and handing it to the fallen without so much as glancing in his direction. "You'll want this. It's a book Isaac has read over and over again, some psychology book on the meanings of dreams." He snorted. "As though humans could ever understand." He sounded almost bitter... but mostly sad. War reached up to pat his oldest brother on the shoulder, but thought better of it instead and got to his feet, turning to Lucifer and nodding. "Let us read this... book!" ----- Nanako hugged Yeff tighter when Lilith approached, her eyes widening. "It's her-?" She stared blankly for a moment at Livia, just confused and still hugging Yeff as she looked back at Lilith curiously. |
